The  career graph could always by default commence by one joining the organisation as a Trainee and could move on as an Executive-HR / Sr. Executive-HR / Asst. Manager-HR / Manager-HR / Sr.Manager-HR / Asst. Vice President-HR / VP-HR / DGM-HR / GM-HR / Director -HR. Secondly it will again depend on the domain that the individual might tend to specialise : Recruitment / Training & Development /Organisation Development / Performance Management Systems / Compensation & Benefits etc

Finally before I could conclude there would be a Generalist Profile : which could cover a little of all the above domains mentioned above and apart from this the Payroll / Attendance / Leave Records / Issuing of the Appointment orders / Final settlements etc

I hope that the same would be of help to all of you reading this and also request Senior Learned people in this field to correct me if I have gone wrong. Thanks.

Regards,

Sadashiv Rao

Firstly, a candidate joins as a Trainee then via junior officer and senior officer, he can become an Executive-HR / Sr. Executive-HR / Asst. Manager-HR / Manager-HR / Sr.Manager-HR / Asst. Vice President-HR / VP-HR / DGM-HR / GM-HR / Director -HR. Secondly it will again depend on the domain that the individual might tend to specialise : Recruitment / Training & Development /Organisation Development / Performance Management Systems / Compensation & Benefits etc as Mr. Sadashiv has already pointed out...

The path is simple :

To start from grass root level and reach to the top with well mapped path.

please look for horizontal growth this will give vertical growth. Don't give emphasis on designation, rather look for the potentail and capacity to handle the responsibility.

Always challange yourself for higher and more responsibilty.

Please rembember nothing is impossible if one thinks he can be director he can become as desired by him, only he needs to pateint, well organised and disciplined with focus on the goal.

What i think of carrier path of  HR professionals is that how fast  a person climbs each step completely depends upon his performance. I believe that the following are the path that an hr professional should go,
1. Trainee HR (Fresher)
2. Executive HR (1 Yr. Exp.)
3. Sr. Executive HR (2 Yr. Exp.)
4. Asst manager HR
5. Deputy Manager HR
6. Manager HR
and last general manager
