I understand that B.E. and B.Tech are the same. Is there any difference between Engineering and Technology ? If both of them are different, then how come B.E and B.Tech are the same ?
Thank you Sir for inviting me to this discussion. I come from a different background but it seems BE degree should put emphasis more on theoretical part of the subject whereas B.Tech most should be more practice oriented. I do not know if there are difference of curriculum in these two streams in India; and if there is how much.
Our friend Mr. Virag Shah has sent me a link. It states that:
Engineering is both a field of study as well as application of knowledge (scientific) to create or produce something such as products and something structural.
The word technology is commonly used in processes where our knowledge of science and engineering is used to control and adapt to our environments. The term technology was first used to describe the ability of human beings to convert natural resources into tools for use.
Thank you Virag !!
Mr. Murthy, fundamentally this looks to be very confusing, but the answer to this is very straight. B.E. degree can be offered by the Engineering Colleges affiliated to the University which offers other courses as well, in addition to Engineering, whereas, B.Tech. is offered by the University that offers Engineering education only. B.Tech focused more on application-oriented education, however, even B.E. follows similar pattern these days, and have made Industrial Training mandatory. In effect, therefore, I do not see any reason why we should differentiate both the Degrees.

Vinoy Ji a learned and pragmatic person should not have joined the debate on the wrong side. Let us give the fair sex, the freedom, security and support and see what happens. Nothing is going to change in a day! Let us support them for their fight in... |
In India - Religion must stay away from politics. No place for religion or religious gurus in politics. No second thought about it !! |
I am not fluent in Hindi. Being a Sanskrit student (in my child-hood days) I am able to read it and grasp the essence of it. Good and nice poem !! |
