So far, I know that Supply Chain Management is wider term than Logistics Management. Supply Chain is network of facilities (warehouses, factories, terminals, stores etc.), vehicles (trucks, trains, planes etc.) and logistics management which includes fleet management, inbound and out bound transportation managemnt, material handling, supply-demand planning and inventory management.
But still what is the major difference among two?
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCM & LOGISTICS
Supply chain management focuses on the integration of all business processes that add value to the customer, whereas logistics focuses on moving and storing activities as products and information flow through the supply chain to customers. Supply chain management is a management model or philosophy which developed when logistics management was integrated into the value chain to ensure competitive advantage to firms. What job opportunities are offered in supply chain? The supply chain offers multiple job opportunities on different levels of management: • Operations level - Assistant buyer, transport clerk, warehouse clerk, stores assistant, goods receiving, despatch clerk, dispatch clerk, materials handling officer • Supervisory level - Buyer, procurement manager, chief buyer, operations manager, warehouse manager, stores manager, production supervisor •

It's not a case to support Mr. Hazare. All are supporting are the cause, not the person. We need to differentiate the two things. |
