I heard that there are thousnads meaning of aum or om, One meaning i know of Aum in Near to God what are the other meanings of Aum ?
‘A-U-M’ –from the view-point of MahaManas
“In the spiritual world in India, there the ‘A-U-M’ is a very weighty word, used in the beginning of Hymn and ‘Mantras’ (spell like words used in good purpose). Some of us think that ‘A-U-M’ is the first sound of the universe. In fact, ‘BOM’ is the first sound of the universe. It came into existence with the birth of the universe –the beginning of the great creation with a big explosion.
Actually, ‘A-U-M’ is the root of all sounds and the base music of cosmic concert. The great universe is on motion from the birth and there is a hum like sound like of a motor in motion, which is produced from its basic frequency. This hum is ‘A-U-M’
There are three unites of dimension in the ‘A-U-M’. ‘A’ is Original Being (Brahma), ‘U’ (you) is God or universe existence, and ‘M’ is me or ‘I’. ‘ParamAham’ to ‘Aham’. –MahaManas
AUM or OM is the primordial sound pronounced as in AUM, all syllables prolonged to a fair length of breathing time. "A" - The letter's briefest possible sound as we pronounce in 'upper' is the mother of all spoken word and it symbolises TRUTH (i.e. Satya) "U" - pronounced as in 'you', symbolises the mind-intelligence (i.e. chitta) "M" - pronounced as in 'umbrella' more intoned as in 'uncle', symbolises the ultimate HAPPINESS (i.e. Ananda). This is the sound of rotating universe. This is the sound which one can hear within oneself when one's physical doors (so called "nine doors") are closed to the world as per St. Kabir Das. He used to call it 'Anhad Naad' or the sound without limit, i.e. without beginning or the end. Therefore, Om is "satta + chitta + ananda". This is the word symbol which represents 'Brahma", all that is animate, inanimate inclusive of the known universe as such and those that are unknown.
