I know most of the active members who were able to make this forum worth is already took VRS...me too not visiting now a days....
But for the last few days whenever I hears about the news about our President election...I have a doubt...May be most of the Indians have the same mind that of me....
What is the difference a president makes in India to a common man (AAM AADMI) ? Last i heard about is that an amount of more than 200 crores were spent for her overseas trip some time with family members too.
I dont like politics at all and hence no interest in discussing with collegues or friends....
So for toostep members.....What is your view
Hi friends
I completely disagree with few members posted their opinion ( Needless to mention names) , Infect we Indians are quite biased in our approach.. i mean we do proceed what we are told with.. President is constitutional head of our country, and there is streak difference in the working of president and Legislature..
For example, a law can't come into force until president endorses it.. and there are several examples, our previous presidents have sent proposed bill back to parliament to reconsider though presidents of our nation is not empowered to reject the bill passed by parliament, yet it gives a considerable attention if the bill is sent by president to re looked into..
for i feel let's comment on the issues we are sure of or we have some facts behind our assertions not like fools in disguised following the blind initiators...
in simple words, President is a rubber stamp, mostly a member from ruling party ( Dr. Kalam is exception), who is responsible to make it as a law when a resolution or amendment passed in both houses.
He/ she may uses it's power to send back it to both the houses before finalization of making it as law.
Thanks for referral, Manoj & sorry for answered it lately.
With their presence personalities like Babu Rajendra Prasad, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Dr. Abdul Kalam and the like brings value to the chair. Some fails to carry on the legacy and pull down the value of the chair (I dont want to name any names). It depends on the personalities who occupies the chair. For that we cant generalise and question the importance and necessity of the post of the President of the nation. Without the President, its like a single parent rearing, I believe. Irrespective of the ability of a single parent in bringing up a child, the child feels something missing in her/his brought up.
some of the answers I find to be hilarious out here. Corruption starts from home and THE MONETARY SYSTEM IS A CORRUPT SYSTEM. We are bound to get corrupt in every step in our life. I am not talking about Money only, I am talking about MIND, HEART, RELATIONSHIP etc. Analyze yourself and than put forth your answers.
Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.
John Adams
Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty.
Plato
Democracy is a device that insures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.
George Bernard Shaw
Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage.
H.L. Mencken
The government, which was designed for the people, has got into the hands of the bosses and their employers, the special interests. An invisible empire has been set up above the forms of democracy.
Woodrow Wilson
Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.
John Adams
A head of states who run the system with his knowledge & skills. He, constantly, interweaves the fabrics of democracy in every common-man interests through the political parties with that one is associated & integrates the various systemic elements that are, basically , the various ministries to achieve the goal / target that are spelt out in his speech / agenda set forth.
