Manipur has been cut off from the rest of the country for over 100 days now. Its implications - every commodity on dual or triple digit rise. People are suffering. There is total insecurity for folks who have sons, daughters, brothers who are of tender age because the security forces barge in, frisk them, shower volley of obscenities, rough them up and threaten with dire consequences. And there is no body to question all these. Manipuris are Indian citizens. No body is taking up their cause. And why? Because it is so far flung that it does not hamper our lives. Because it is considered a step sister. There is no effort to bring in rule of law or scale down the peoples sufferings. Why is Manipur treated this way? Is it because it is India they prefer to be with? Burma is reaping it rich because of this imbroglio. And what are the masters at the centre doing? Nothing. One accord with the Kukis and then there is the Nagas to deal with. Can they take cognizance of the issue in its entirety and resolve it so people can stop suffering? Please comment as a support to your solidarity to this movement for protecting the people's right in Manipur.
