Hello Everyone!
As I reflect on the role of a mentor I think of the importance experience, accessability, and ongoing support plays in the mentoring relationship. In this regard, it seems to me that without appropriate experience noone should play the role of a mentor. Similarly, once an experienced mentor is found a sincere desire to enter into a mentoring relationship requires the mentor to be accessible to respond to fears, doubts, and critical questions of the person being mentored. Finally, an experienced and accessible mentor must be comitted to ongoing support as without this critical factor, there is really no mentoring taking place. Any thoughts?( colegial)
Mentors use their personal experience to help their mentees avoid mistakes and learn from good decisions,
but at the same time it is also correct that being a mentor doesnot require a special skill as, being a mentor the person have to have the skill of listening, building you up, assuming you are great, continues to learn and grow, and not necessarily every experienced person can have all these qualities.
The expertise of the mentor and the willingness and the ability of the mentee come togther and create a visible outcome
