i asked this question to collect the views of the people to become a good listener
willing to be there with other person 100%.And being there in present moment .I believe a certain quality of selflessness is required too.And ofcourse the maturity to understand the fact that we have two ears and only one tongue ,so nature also wants us to listen more and talk less.Last but not the least confidence in one's own self and high self esteem which leads to respect for others
A good listener is a good spokes peron, one who speaks also will be able to understand and present the view. It encourages a healthy debate or consensus, So listening permits one to understand better
Be patience with listening and this will make one to understand> Listening is better than talking to grasp the essence in order to succeed.

one word answer is "humble submission" to specific subject, that happens only when the subjected topic create full understanding in the mind of adherer.
The impact of speech and topic of concerned mixed with praises makes us a good listener. Critics are listened most widely because people do not like to hear the achievements. We reject the achievements of others as false claims but critics are acclaimed.
patience....and ample amount of good interest.....
when we are respecting those persons and their words ,who talks in front of ours views,and giving respect to a person....that make a good listener...
undesrstand the context of person who is speaking is very important. the good listener trying to make it clear what doen the pesron speaks about
Understanding that the person in front of you who is talking also desreves some respect........is the basic need for becoming a good listner,...add to it is you come to know what he/she is talking about and can then respond accordingly...!

EMPATHY
Attentive listening, sincere hearing. making others understand that u r really listening, showing the concern for the subject, if possible involving by showiing intrest i clearing doubts at the time of listening.
By being good listener u can develop good rapport and relationship .
