With regards to the dynamics in the manufacturing industry I would like to ask my frnds on this forum about the technologies that can help in building the factories of the future..
ability to measure n control manufactureing with more n more precisionness, has changed the technology in past decades, we used to measure things in mm then one tenth of mm then one hundrenth then one thousandth of mm[ millimeter] as the ability to measure physical or chemical or nuclear or biological quantities improved...manufactureing changed with same speed, metrology[[ science to measure quantities
Mechanization of work, technological upgradation, innovation in pruduction techniques will certainly help in creating factories of tommorrow. Innovation comes from the flexibility in the productions techniques and by being adaptable to the new techniques. A large amount of investment is also needed in the research and development (R&D) department. Furthermore the societys' norms, cultures, mind-state of people also need to be flexible to not to resist the innovation. More importantly the managerial skills of the employers of company will also make possible creating the factories of tomorrow.
The technologies of the factories of tomorrow will be based on high productivity, optimised usage of resources and most of all environment friendly. The technologies will move from labor oriented to technology driven and will be dependent on technocrats. The technolgies of the next decades will be run by knowledge workers and manpower from countries like India and China will have a great edge. There will be urgent need to upgrade skills in these areas.
Any technology that enhances lean manufacturing with minimum human intervention to achieve required quality in economical cost. That what is the technology for factories of tomorrow. Can be more efficient machinery and equipments, machinery and equipments running on alternative power, cost effective robots, etc.
