I fully agree, CPM is best method for most of the Infrastructure Projects. However, these do not hold for the R&D type of projects. CPM also hold for turn around/ shut down management for process industry , generally involving I/ II & even III crtitical activity.
Citical Path method is very good way of finding out the activities whc may cause delay to the project end date if fixed. but should be done with a very gud experiance of practical site knowledge & should be the resionable relations. it helps very strongly in EOT 's. As a Planner i really enjoy working with critical path method.
The effectiveness of the CPM relies on how microscopically all the elements have been broken down into. The more detailed the WBS, the more factors and risks are accounted for. The CPM will also give a clear idea of the different available floats which may have to be used as and when the program starts deviating from the CPM. This is a very good technique for use in projects which have a definite start and end, like construction projects.
In any project having various activities which are interlinked in one way or the other, the CPM defines the path or sequence over which all critical activities lie.A delay in any one of those activities would result in time over-run and consequently cost over-run too. The top project management have to keep a hawks eye 'mainly on those activities on the Critical Path and also keep a watch to see that non-critical activities do not consume their float and become critical!

I guess it will not decrease the weight of the metal because due to the increased weight of the oxygen which has combined with the iron...... But sides are not relevant !! |
Kannan good debate but can you make you sides more clear. And one way is to reuse the wasted cements. Most of the people they don't reuse it and leave it like that. |
Prinu.... Thanks for sharing.... :) |
