The position has changed now after the announcement of RBI on 1st Nov 08 with regard to CRR, REPO and SLR. CRR will be 5.5 %. SLR - 24 and REPO - 7.5 %. With the reduction in all these parameters, liquidity is expected to ease considerably. There will be more lendable funds for the banks. Banks are expected to cut their interest rates further which will help in credit expansion and aid industrial growth. The interest rate cut by FED in US and other Central Banks has already been showing positive impact on stock markets. With RBI's initiative for easing liquidity, there could be some recovery in the Indian financial markets.
