Day by day people becomes more and more cruel. Donot think even which may hurt others but becomes craze to do that things which should not be done. Why does it develope this kind of attitudes to them ? It becomes bigger problem todays in day to day life. Todays generation does not learn how to behave with the elders, students donot pays any moral respects to the teachers and seniors, they not even bothers to says any ugly voices and even untoward activities without any hesitation infront of the elders or seniors, why ?
The root cause of all these things is the modern education system.Today's education system is so materialistic that it completely makes a child think only about "me" and "my" all the time.In the name of success, man is becoming too much money minded and in the name of modernisation, we are cutting our relationship with natural things. In the name of enjoyment, we are becoming so much dependent of mechanical things that a single second without them will make us ill.We forgot our culture's basic thing "Simple living high thinking".Even our culture, moral values and traditions became "Myth" in the chapters of the school books which children read, pass exams and forget.Because of all these, we are no more satisfied with whatever we have and become intolerant towards society whenever something comes between we and our "Desire"....Till the time we learn self satisfaction with whatever we have and learn the formulae of "Simple living", this condition will continue...
Two expressions in Vineet's answer are quite mpressive. They are "Simple Living and High Thinking" and "Myth". I may quote a bit from Religion but that is not the intent. Ancient India had Vedas and Upanishads which preached these very concepts. We had Rishis who shunned wealth and abuse of their extraordinary powers and chose relentless pursuit of knowledge as their sole preoccupation. And disseminating such information was also considered as an equally sacred duty without which their Life's mission was considered to be incomplete. But when it came to supernatural powers, such information was withheld from the underserving.
The next stage of evolution are the "Itihas" and "Puranas". When roughly translated, their respective meanings are " As it Happened" and "Ancient Epics or Tales". The excellent human values established by the lives of Ram and Sita in Ramayan and the way TRUTH has to be upheld in a complex and decadent Society as shown by Krishna were summarily dismissed as MYTHOLOGY by the introduction of English Education, their cultural, socialogical and scientific models as an offshoot of Lord Macaulay's infamous pronouncements. Colonialism also meant a total denial of the benefits of Industrial Revolution. Thus shared heritage yielded space to mutual hatred, notions of superiority etc., across casteist and religious lines.
True to predictions, we had as our first Prime Minister, an excellent statesman, scholar, thinker and visionary whose only flaw was that he was Indian at heart but English by mould. As a result, Secularism came to be falsely associated with shunning moral education as Religious preaching. Regardless of the Religion to which we belonged, rationalist aristocrats like Jinnah and Nehru and mass, grass-root level leaders like "Periyar" - E.V.Ramsamy Naicker of Tamilnadu unshackled the millennia-old belief the common man associated with God - that the wrongdoers will be punished by God.
Let me reach the conclusion - as I see it - TRUTH is beyond the comprehension of any one individual. We are seekers. Regardsless of our Religious leanings, what the modern Indian Society needs for a sweeping overhaul and restoration is reintroduction of Education in Human Values as a compulsory subject which should also include on-fiel social assignments. THE CRUX of the ISSUE is that all faiths - Islam, Parsi, Jewish, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism (is there really such a concept?) and ancient but now extinct faiths as well - must be treated as reservoirs of universal harmony, brotherhood and human values. The curriculum should shun all arguments that heap scorn and harted on other faiths or seek to paint black and white. EHV should draw only the positives BUT from all known faiths. This seems to be long term but the only way.
We MUST make a beginning. The BEGINNING has to be from the Primary Level. Over a period of 15-18 years, India will suceed in throwing up youth who will know how to treat all fellow citizens as one - based on the EHV in both the academic and on-field educational project modes.
I apologize for the length of this response. And also for the seemingly misleading introductory perspective. When the intention is positive, candor is welcome and fear and suspicion should take backseat.
I dream of the INDIA we all wish to see - only by this kind of 20 year investment from the Nursery stage. If tonnes of milk are thrown into a vessel containing a drop of a coagulent, the entire liquid goes bad. We need infant minds - pure, fresh from make-believe and indoctrinations of all kinds - and inpart the dignity of human mind and society until they vomplete their UnderGraduation or the equivalent.
That will be the the dawn of INDIA 2020 - a dream by my living icon - Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Lets look at it like this. Whom do we consider capable, if we meet three of our family members (equal closeness in family relationship); one who has made money or one who does not have financial problems or the one who is deep into financial troubles? Added to this we come across this "settled" tag, if one has a own house and a vehicle to move around. If a person's children are married off and they are on their own, then he does not have "responsibility"!!
In all the above situations, we place the materialistic achiever higher in the ladder of achievement. He receives recognition. He truly believes he has achieved something.
Once such a belief comes into him, he considers those who have not reached the materialistic heights as him as less capable. He also tries to reach higher, all along pushing down others.
Children havwe impressionable minds. When they are brought up in such environment, they tend to develop similar mindset too.
This is the majority. Such mindset is the majority. The haves and have nots both share the responsibility for the state of affairs. Victimis are those who place themselves a little higher on the achievement place than materialistic achievement. When they reach the level of achievement as they desire, they get the recognition but till then the society will be very cruel on them.
The only sad part is that many genuine talents may not reach achievement levels they deserve. It is a myth to say that treading the hard path will strengthen resolve of a person to achieve higher. The path is actually a very rough, stony, thorny path with many entry barriers. At every step, the question the person encounters is "what materialistic assets you have to implement what you think you can?". Only 20% in my view achieve reasonable success and 80% fade away disappointed.
CASUAL ATTITUDE among one and all is also the main reason for the way todays society is . During early 1970s and before / after that i believe less importance was given for education unlike today. During those days people had one major habit of purchacing acres of land i.e., real estate today which we call now. Today i notice in every house/family there is fight over one issue PROPERTY. When kids , chidren and middle aged students notice their parents/families fighting over this it naturally reflects their thinking and finally i think they may do the same tomorrow.
Also the attitude of children and even every person is getting worst in terms of respect due to many things such as watching movies with those stupid love stories, etc . It inspires the students to behave the same once they come outside the theatre. Parents think of providing the luxury to their children which they never got to access during their days. That luxury which is not utilized in a proper manner again creates a kind of attitude which forces them to behave at a high level.
Money changes man and man changes with money. Of course take even our famous politicians who have bank accounts completely overloaded. They are the most cruced ones and also the powerful sometimes. Their are overloaded schools in cities but hardly one or two in villages. There are overloaded engineering colleges but hardly one or two polytechnic colleges. Parents think their children should settle happily and encourage them to read to be the topper but never take the time to TEACH them one word RESPONSBILITY.
This society can change if the attitude among one and all changes from the way of speaking, eating , living,. etc and finally THINKING .
Money plays a more important role here, every buddy running to catch the money, and to get that they r suffering a lot and going through very critical and hard situations they have to bare a lot and even though, if they r not getting there expectations then at that situations they become cruel, and hurt others and in most cases after becoming rich also they wont care to others and they hurt and also in some times we can find people hurt others coz they too hurted.
None other than the parents and media, parent’s don’t have the time to teach there children’s and to restrict them towards good and bad, even they r not taking care about there kids what they r doing and what kind of circle do they have. Just the thing is that they are learning from the media and every buddy knows that, what the media show’s now days.

I never agry with 'Engineers build future' why because one who do not make up his mind & till technologies and art comes to the one point. Artistic mind brings the technology first, to bring the comfort, of course which discovered one by one. |
It will not harm if some one is there in that house nearer & dearer who can take care as the child need actually. Otherwise the many examples there in the society. |
