BSNL (Bharat Sansar Nigam Limited) is India's largest
telecommunication company. BSNL is providing very cheaper rates of calling now
a days compare to other competitors like IDEA, AIRTEL, VODAFONE etc. But even
people are not going for BSNL services why?
To reply above question there are several point which BSNL is not
taking into consideration:
1. Poor Customer Services Compare to other competitors
2. Poor Network Connectivities
3. Dont care existing Customers
4. Dont ask for feedback from the customers regarding their
services
5. Lack of Value Added Services
6. Lack of promotional schemes
Even a fifth standard student can figure out reasons of failure as mentioned above.I inside the BSNL deeply analyses the problem that why despite all awareness BSNL or its emplyoees are not able to improve their shortcomings.Reasons lie in its years of legacy. It was a monopoly for hundreds of years. There was no other competitor. All subscribers were at the mercy of even a lineman forget about higher executives.People were dolling out thousnads of rupees for a new telephone. Now when in 2000 Govt decided to make DTS a public ltd company BSNL by default inherit all these executives ITS and non excutives with their past legacy. These people were senior most in their ranks and also part of all types of decision making & business relateed matters.Similarly non executives are also never recruited in BSNL.All new direct recruitees who joined BSNL after 2000 are having uncorrupted and unbiased brains. But being the junior most are not able to change corrupt practices & red tapism exists in the organisation. After intial years of resistance, reluctance & revolt many of them also becomes part of the crowd.
BSNL have intelligent employees but the work culture make all of them to breath on their desk,as no pressure is over their and free to have chat n gossip. No tension of sack. I agree with Prasad ji thats right to some extend as BSNL know that they can't make it possible in metros right now so they r targeting Villages as their profit areas somehow.
BSNL may be slow, but its service is much improved across India. Private companies focus only in urban areas. BSNL is the only service provider to provide broadband connect in every nook and corner of this country. In my town Pondicherry private operators do not provide landlines or broadband in most part of the town (more than 80% of locations) and it is only BSNL which caters to every Indian in the true sense. BSNL service support is fast and the reliability of lines are good. In the recent rains my landline provided by private operator was down for 5 days while the bsnl line worked without any hitch. We should stop bashing public sector without going into details and service quality should include feedback from all areas rural as well as urban.
The question itself has the answer internally.So,Mr.Prakashraj..are you still expecting some answer from the members or just wanted to share your thoughts? All your points cover the basic issues why people are not in favor of BSNL though the plans are cheap and affordable. One thing I can add to your list is that getting the BSNL/MTNL connection itself is a big challenge. I was been suggested by many of my friends to get the recommendation of local MLA/political leaders to get the connection of BSNL.
