In this current scenario most of the police man has been overweight. if they want to join in the department they have to maintain their height and weight. after they get placement over a year they are gaining weight and also they have big tummies. if they are obsess how they will catch the thieves everywhere they cannot go in motor bike or jeep. they have to run, walk to catch the thieves. so why can't government to take necessary action against them to maintain their weight. kindly give me your valuable opinion.

They should make it a point to E A T (? ?) less &

Thanks,manish for referral.The reason for a policeman being over weight is due to 3-D effects. Family, Immediate officers, and politicians.The environs make them so defensive that fat start depositing around their belly which is a marker for survival.

@Ms Gladish,The government efforts to allow them independent of political influence alone can bring about change in their physical conditions. This way they can tend to family and feel satisfied to discharge their duties more effectively.

There is a physical criteria provided in the law, but who is there is implement it and enforce it?

After recruitment, Police has no routine life. Except in policelines, where less than 5% of constables and other officers live, there is no provision or facilities for Physical training/Parade and their deputation is also need based where Police is acting as watchman and mingling with civilians and also their job demands so. Where as PAC, CRPF and even Homeguard are seen in tidy and better state of physique. Till such time that the life of Police does not get disciplined by ROUTINE, good results are not possible.

ya you are right but i think thieves/criminal are much more minded person,so police department should more concious about mental stregth with physical strength.

i think now a days no policeman is hard enough to catch thief by running and walking, there must be regular exercise in all the regions of police department and if they not come, charge some negative marking criteria which effect future promotion. thanks for referral manish sir.
