In my view,connection affords you to understand the psychology,paranoia, comments, and post.It also affords you an opportunity to comment on current affairs,(social.political ). The new users expect to read his or her post and understand them. This is a life time opportunity to interact with various type of professionals which you may not have during the course of your assignment. So,Ghosh saheb go full blooded and accept the new bloods. I am receiving calls not many. from my connection for advice on job and business.

To some extent i agree this thought of "why connect" but i have a relevant reply to it.  As and when one gets time can talk "there is nothing like u cannot talk" people of ur interest and so on.  One does not have time is another issue.  It is not abt collecting no or no of connections it is about sharing your thoughts with friends and colleagues of your interest.

I donot know whether is a number game or what,but i was not participating since last two months bcoz m now focusing on my job and my tight schedule prevent me from participating.But i regularly visit this website.But donot think that TooStep members are not interested in communicating with u.

Prize is not important thing but getting knowledge and sharing knowledge or ideas between our circle are good thing.Many members can not able to participate on regular basis due to busy with their job or business. So it does not mean that they are not interested but they can not able to participate. In my community is also , many are added and few are participating. So we should never think negative. Go ahead on positive way. Every body are using too step either direct or indirect. We can say that some are became member to get the job and many placements are finding good candidate from too step. If you will analyse too step member profile, you will find the word "Job seeker", so they are getting benefit as well as they are getting good practical knowledge from expertise....

Mr. Ghosh, you have made a very pertinent point.  Many of our youngsters have to understand this! Connection to increase number is not going to serve any purpose.  Connection should be used to conduct meaningful debates, sharing useful insights, seeking solution for unresolved issues, and, of course, last but not the least, referring certain potential candidates for jobs!   One should maintain reciprocity and cordiality, that's the beauty of social networking sites, such as, Toostep!  

Connection requests are for  enlarging their circle of friendship and to share their ideas with you and to get suggestions.  Since it is a platform of professionals from diverse fields, people may get the knowledge of different fields by interacting with each other.  I dont think there is some other reason for this.  I request you to take it in a positive spirit.  I do receive and I accept them anyway.  

I dont think Toostep will give any prize or a medal for the person having highest number of connections. It is mainly intended to refer articles of mutual interest. I have requests from placement consultants to refer people for jobs. Some requests to seek advise on banking matters. By circulating yourself on Toostep, you will be known to others and others also get to know you.
