Give me one good reason, why facebook is better than orkut
I am thinking each and every day .. Why a simple good programmer (mark zuckerberg ) is compared with the Steve jobs .
:) . Really i just wanna know .. The good answer will get a thumbs up from my side.
And the answers which does not satisfy me will get a thumbs down . Sorry i did not mean to hurt anyone. just wanna let you know whether your answer helped me or not . :)

1st thing is that facebook explores friends of friends i.e. people you may know and orkut has same but orkut show only 4-5, where facebook shows more so we can connect with them.
2nd Facebook has "status" like twitter, where friend can directly comment, Orkut now added this feature.
3rd Facebook has a "Group" same like orkut, but orkut does not have group chat like facebook.
4th Orkut when we share photo or changed profile or anything, is not shown to our friends now days this features are added to orkut. But facebook already has this features which show what our friends are doing.
5th Very important thing Appearance, Facebook has Good Appearance than Orkut.
6th last things, There are many cool application and games available o facebook and continuously increasing.
i think these are major difference so that now people moving from orkut to facebook.
7th Privacy, orkut default privacy settings are good than facebook, but most people even doesn't mind to change privacy setting, orkut will not get point for that.
So we can see that facebook get 6 point and orkut only 1.
i think because of that simple things and simple interface facebook is famous.

It "All in the Name". The word "Orkut" is unknown and doesn't relate well with people while "facebook" does. It is a combination of two commonly used words "face" & "book". The combination clearly works here & simply gives the right intent of this social site that is more about the person you know.
The Site is easy to navigate (effectively utilized the space). The status messages are occupying the major area with easy access to apps. It all started with games like farmville & got so used to it we started requesting our friends to join these games and over the time almost all of them were here (Easy transfer), sharing their status updates. Whether they continue to play these games or not, never miss login to FACEBOOK atleast once a day.
It's an addiction!!
there is better security on facebook than Orkut. There are even more better facilities like tagging friends, writing on walls, liking stuffs, commenting on them, better communication and one important point orkut also has turned to blue............
How any cause can be created in fb?
Orkut is one of those over organized apps and there are more like those in the Internet
facebook is clearly for the people to communicate and not some application, which again tries to organize your life with their categories and the like.
Also Information overkill and overload is very likely with Orkut; you don't have that at Facebook then only for those you know.

Facebook have better privacy than orkut.
Facebook have more members and more legit members.People all around world use facebook.
Facebook have lots of nice applications. Especially games like farmville, mafiawars and all are very addictive.
Facebook shows latest updates from our friends. We can easily publish/share messages, pictures and information to all our friends.(best)
We can upload pictures and videos from our mobile and share it in facebook.
We can connect to many social websites,blogs,portals using facebook and even login to them using facebook account.. it is like passport.
