mobile Phone technology is no rocket science. Any one can create a new spear by introducing a new feature. What Apple did , it not only created a stear but also give it at a very attractive price band. The features offered were far advanced than the lastest technolgy available in the market.

Nokia either makes a identical phone to tell the world that it can also do it ,or make something better than i-phone andmuch much better price band to help feed its maekt share.

These days even Chinese mobile phones are available with these features as a package, features like touch screen, MP3 / MP4, memory card and other hand cell phones like Blackberry are entering the Indian markets, so naturally to keep ahead in the race Nokia has to do all this irrespective of recession, and for high end gadgets like cell phone there is no recession.

According to me as most of the high end phones are touch screen and most of those phones are really doing well like, iphone, HTC,windows, and others, but then Nokia is coming with low cost touch screen phones just to garner more number of consumer base and it makes sense to come out with low cost phones during recession. By this they are capturing big chunk of market that is out there....

Almost all high end mobile phones are touch screen and the trend has changed from slide phones to touch screen phones. The year 2009 will be known for touch screen mobile phones, and nokia will be introducing high end phone (n97) and range of medium cost touch screen phones.

According to me, I feel that NOKIA doesn't want to lose its market share any more. They have already lost market share to Apple with its iPhone and Research In Motion with its BlackBerry devices. To overcome and regain those market shares NOKIA is coming out with these touch screen mobile phones.
