Why it is hard to live a simple life Life based on values. Why we get attracted towards a life which is having more flamboyant in it than a life of substance ? Why soap opera get more TRP than Discovery Channel ?
Man is a social animal! As per Maslow's theory, every individual craves for five types of NEEDS. By the time, we actualizes his "esteem needs", when he looks back, he comes to realize that he has messed up his own life! Beyond materialism, there is something beyond one's comprehension, that offers "peace" and "tranquility", i.e. "realization of self" that takes him closer to the Almighty!
Since we've forgotten 'Sacrificial tendency',that's why it is hard to live a simple life....
Because of our demands are growing day to day in compare of our actual requirement
It is not hard my friend it is your mind and heart which needs to be molded. Life is very elementary, if you discard the fancy ideas off your mind. We are focused more on media and the Bollywood which creates a gap between your true need and desires.
Stop watching the "IDIOT BOX" and see how you feel...:)
I am doing exactly this and I am very happy with my life, trust me it helps and yes please do practice "Meditation" as 'It reveals yourself to you'...:)
A nice perspective.... It was & will remain hard as simple life always an outcome of truth which is rare to find and so as simple living.
In Maha Bharata, Pandavas are only five, their army is also small when compared to that of Kauravas. They are 100 in number their army is very big. Pandavas represents the good and Kauravas represent the bad. Good is always surrounded by many bad things. Our inclination will always be towards the crowd. We need to make our best efforts to divert our attention towards good things. The story of Maha Bharata is the story of our society. Society is the same in all Yugas. Difference is the change in the ratio of good and bad.
We are made that way. We love complicated things . We enjoy luxuries and love pleasure.. Simple living is not something which comes naturally to us..
