Have we noticed that the the petrolium fuel (petrol/diesel) charges are never rounded figures & always in fractions ie. Rs. 00.xy paise. No doubt we can understand this is due to different taxes applicable in different states. BUT TO WHOM IT IS NOT MOSTLY BUT TOTALLY BENEFICIAL- TO ONLY EITHER PETROL PUMP OWNER OR THOSE WORKING THERE FOR FUEL FILLING.
Whenever we vist any petrol pump for filling fuel by paying cash & pays round amount may be Rs. 100, 200, 500 or 1000 etc. the added petrol is always of the less amount than paid. the digital displays always displays Rs. 49.56 against Rs. 50.00 figures may vary depending upon location.
But can we notice against Rs. 50 they take advantage of rs. 0.50, as the amount is so less we often neglect it. But if we consider no of persons per day visit petrol pump for filling fuel at one pump & the calculated such amount will be huge amount.
Govt. should have control over it by fixing & rounding up the amounts for each states/cities including its taxes.
Is it not a serious issue?
