Hi,
As a human being we have certain principles, approach towards the things around us. The sense of double standard arises when discrimination comes into place. It means we have different set of principles for one group of people than the other group. The double standard could be in anything like in our behavior, morality and the one also we are watching in Australia!!
The reason for double standard as per my understanding is 'False Ego' and nothing else.
Animals need to adjust in jungles.Likewise, human beings need to adjust in a society and at place of work. This requires adapting oneself to the prevailing environment. To do well in life, success is essential. Anyone, who, by virtue of one's natural behaviour and personality/traits can adjust amicably in society is a lucky person.Others need to manifest their behaviour differently with different people at different times to ensure their acceptance. In doing so, intentionally/inknowingly, they start following double standards for their survival.
People with double standards may be successful at times( in their intended/desired work) but, in the longer run, they tend to be neglected /downcast by society once their real self is known by those interacting with them regularly.
People with double standards generally have low self esteem, lack confidence, are introverts and are suspicious in nature. All should be cautious of dealing with such people.

Hi Sheetal,
I am relative new comer on this platform. As I cruised along I got the regular thumbs UP/DOWN etc. I was quite elated truthfully. Then I saw the whole process and the way proplr were going about their business on this platform. Not surprised at all.
When you are on a platform like this the first thing you need to know is that YOU need to be YOU without any emotions attached to others. Simply because ypu do not know them and vice versa. If you seriously feel that you can gain a loy only then make your own group that you would deligently follow and voila... such questions will never haunt you!!
I am not sure I understand your question, since double standards as I understand is when the same priniciple and rules, are applied unfairly to different groups, one group usually being condemned for the slightest offence while the other is treated far more leniently.
Do you mean some topics are getting more attention while others are being ignored? Help me, I seem lost here.
