Ajay,

I also find this true. But in my view, people use this portal in their working hours, really bad..., they do not have even sufficient time to read whole article, because most of the articles are too big. Without reading nobady can rate the article honestly... now depend on their mood, if happy you will get 5 stars, if not you may not get single star even.

I judged also Q&A, Debate get the rates but not insights and articles.

Another reason is that subject may not be of his/her interest.

Mostly because of the article length and text size.

By the way its a good question, I rate 5 star to this.

Good question:

May be many are interested in posting their articles, not in reading other's. Only very few even bother to enter their comments. Too many communities also make selective reading and follow up difficult.

Moreover, I find the rating process in itself need some improvement.

I think what matters is to understand the intend of the person who is posting the article and to grasp something good from that artcle and if possible can implement it in our day to day life, rating hardly matters after that :)

Thanks for referring the question to me devi.As far as I could guess, people browse through the articles, get the message , but at the same time , they dont want to indulge too much in it. They tend to take it for granted that they have gained some knowledge out of the postings, but at the same time are afraid that they might be dragged into it , if they rate it.

Ms. Devi Kaladeen, what i think for not rating any article are as follows:

1) People who read the article they just read it for the sake of reading it.

2) They dont understand the article well.

3) They dont want to rate the article.

What i suggest n i think is: Please continue to share your articles and thoguhts, whether anybody wants to rate it or not. Let people do what they want coz its just the matter of there choice... You should continue sharing your knowledge to everyone..

I think that many of are only interested in just sending comments or reply and do not think to rate.

I think I will follow to rate from now on.

WELL IN MY VIEW PEOPLE NOT RATING THE ARTICLE IS MIGHT BE DUE TO ANY ONE OF REASONS:

A) THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO RATE

B) THEY FORGET AFTER READING THE ARTICLE

C)THEY DON'T WANT TO RATE IT

D) THEY ARE SHY FOR RATING THE ARTICLE "THEY THINK IF ON THEIR RATING SOMEONE WILL ASK QUESTION ........FOR THAT SAKE OF THAT THEY REFUSE TO RATE THE ARTICLES"

You are right mam, but we shoudn't bother for them.

I have a little story to share...In my office it was tea time and i was having tea with 3 of my collegues, and the topic was to follow the rules on roads. I and one of my friend were making the 3rd guy to understand that how one person can change his thought, vision and how he can change the way of others too. And everything starts from one person. And if you think that people are not doing right thing, so try to change it. Don't give up.

So that guy start arguing...he said no"following rules doesn't prove that you have done something for your country. He was just stuck on one thing that following rules is nothing. And we were tryiing to make him understand, that there is no need to just have a gun and fight on borders, that our bravve soldiers are doing, and our job is to make the country better.

But the end of discussion was, that guy doesn't try to make his vision clear and left the discussion in mid.

So, what i want to say is that we can put our efforts to try to change someone negative, but this is all his or her that if he or she really want to change...we cant force people to rate or answer some article, this is their vision, that how they take it....

One reason as to why people do not bother rating the articles could be that the rating system is not very user friendly, ie. you press the star and you do not quite know if your vote has been submitted or not. There are a host of things I enjoy about TooStep but there are also definite areas for improvement. Do you know of any open areas/debates dedicated to constructive TooStep criticism? If you do, please send them my way and I will try to contribute.
