What might be the reasons that so many project are been terminated prior to completion ?

Why so many project are terminated prior to completion of the project ? The main reason behind this Business needs has changed once the project has been started.
With the change in requirements , the project may no longer provide meaningful value. This will lead to termination of the project by not wasting more money on the project.
The other reasons are project failed to deliver what is has promised, budget, project was no more a priority.
