I guess, the accuracy of the system depends on voice modulation that is typical to a person and not exactly the actual voice as we hear it.  I agree with Brajesh that unless you are seriously affected by cold (say infections of some sort), the voice system may still recognize the voice pattern and allow access.

partially,  Not all of the parts that make up your voiceprint are affected by a cold; the voice verification engine can still verify a caller that has a common cold. Serious throat illnesses such as laryngitis may negatively affect system performance.
