Will it be useful leaning progrmamming languages like c,c++
Start learning at the root if possible. I myself started coding in machine-code (a long, long time ago). That gave me very good insight in memory-management and algorithms. With that knowledge, I found it easy to create small and solid code in c/c++. With the knowledge of c/c++, you will be able to be more creative in dotNet (and know how and when to manage your own memory-allocations). You might also understand why certain choices have been made.
So, although it is not needed to know c or c++, it is advisable to learn the basics as understanding this will help you in the future.
As everyone I too suggest you to learn C and C++, but if you are looking for a carrier in C , C++ then only knowledge is not the factor. Most of the small companies do not work on C, C++, again if you don't have proper qualification or Experience it's difficult to open the big door of a Reputed company.
Where as I have seen people who have jumped to IT carrier from something else, they took their time and joined a small company on web technology and gradually changed skills (One to Oracle and other Java) while working there and then jumped to their dream companies.
So before learning anything please make your future plan clear and jump with determination.
I would like to answer it in this way that:
Yes C and C++ are good no doubt--but there is an open world outside this boundary.
All depends on the requirement and situation of the person who wants to learn.
1) C, C++ are used still now in system programming while other languages like Java,.NET and so on are used for developing Application softwares.
2)Learning only C and C++ is not enough because there are few requirements in C and C++ compared to other high level languages in job market but certainly one can not afford to learn high level languages like Java without having basic concepts of C atleast.
3)Those who are very young and want to move to software field--> Learn C and then enhance your knowledge in other programming language.
4)Those who have started late-->Learn the basic loop structures and process flow of programming and go for next level(Considering less time and the urgency).
5)There are two types of programming these days--a)PlSql and 2)ERP programming.
6)For making career in Plsql-->No need to take formal training in C or C++.
7)For career in ERP-->No need to have deep knowledge of C and C++.
8)In the end I will say, It is better to have knowledge of C and C++ but now a days not mandetory.
