The axis in which earth rotates and its rate rotation, orbit around Sun and speed at which it travels in the orbit, the gravitational force and the force of attraction with respect to other planets etc., depends on its set equilibrium and can definitely undergo change due to imbalance caused by heavy amount of mass moving from one area in its surface to a distant area.
Especially displacement of huge quantity of iron ore can cause change in the Earth's magnetic properties and its orientation. Also the space crated by removal of minerals etc., have to be occupied by ground and rain water making the seas to drain off. Removal of coal, oil and gas will reduce the current process of heat generation inside the Earth and make the Earth to cool and become uninhabitable.
Wonder why entire humanity has become so selfish and apathetic not to bother about all these that are slowly killing the only known inhabitable planet in the whole universe.
The irony is that the story of bribery, nepotism and corruption that are agitating people are much insignificant compared to the harm that is being done to nature by all these can destroy the entire humanity. How sad.
WOW. Mr. Abraham Paul great concern towards mother earth. Our existence is a big question without the mother earth. We are human beings but failed to live being humans. Your concerns are humane concerns. Man try to identify himself with a particular society/group for security reasons and for social recognition.
Mankind was there on the earth even before the different religions came into being. Spiritual leaders/ saints preached the societies against barbaric cultures of those uncivilized days to instill some kind of discipline. Different societies followed different ways preached by these spiritual leaders/saints. Thus religions came into being. The religion is a way of life to lead the life in a disciplined way. But the very objective of a religion is being abused. It seems we are on the verge of completing one cycle of civilisation and arriving the initial stage of civilisation. If we believe the god is one, why should we quarrel in the name of the God!!!!!!
I also appreciate your concern with regard to displacement of huge quantity of iron ore and its impact on Earth's magnetic properties and its orientation. It is everybody's problem on the earth. The world community has to think of. At the same time we need to think of other alaternatives. Do we really have? Thank you very much for beautiful post.
Mr. Abraham, thanks for raising these concerns. I thought let me address two issues of yours. One, regarding depletion of natural resources, and the other on "Religion and God".
1) Let me handle the second issue, first. Swami Vivekananda said "Is there one universal philosophy? Not yet. Each religion brings out its own doctrines and insists upon them as being the only true ones. And not only does it do that, but it thinks that he who does it do that, but it thinks that he who does not believe in them must go to some horrible place. Some will even draw the sword to compel others to believe as they do. This is not through wickedness, but through a particular disease of human brain called fanaticism. They are very sincere, these fanatics, the most sincere of human beings, but they are quite as irresponsible as other lunatics in the world. This disease of fanaticism is one of the most dangerous of all diseases. All the wickedness of human nature is roused by it. Anger is stirred up, nerves are strung high, and human beings become like tigers. Is there any mythological similarity, is there any mythological harmony, and universal mythology accepted by all religions? Certainly not. All religious have their own mythology, only each of them says, "My stories are not mere myths".... That universal existence is God, the ultimate unity in the universe. In Him we are all one. At the same time, in manifestation, these differences must always remain. In our work, in our energies, as they are being manifested outside, these differences must always remain. .... The unity of sameness can come only when this universe is destroyed, otherwise such a thing is impossible."
2) Depletion of Natural Resources, especially excessive removal of iron ore will cause earth shift from its own axis. Very valid concern. The problem of natural resources depletion requires not only an epistemology approach but a new way of thinking ethics and politics. We need to understand that where in policy process the decision stakes are very high (as when an institution is seriously threatened by a proposed policy), there is a tendency to go for a defensive strategy that will involve challenging every step of a scientific argument, even if the systems' uncertainties are actually very small.
How much we all worry and tear our hair off about very petty things, dirty politics, communal, ethnic, linguistic and racial fights, and quarrel for some small area or piece of land between countries, States, even between families and family members as if the entire humanity continues to be petty minded right from the time of Cain and Habel, Rama and Ravana and so on.
Does it make any sense to claim that the fullness of God or the creator has been captured by any particular group; without practicing it? Can God be contained within any one religious system, or can any people continue to live as if God were the tribal deity of their particular nation or group and fight to defend and protect their views and kill others who do not agree to it?
Will it not be anything but idolatrous and foolhardy if any one claims to know God and then do just the opposite? See how political divisions in different parts of the world found expressions by religions to historically make much of these divisions that are part of their tribal mentality. Are many of these religious propaganda we see around us now bordering fanatic ideologies, without looking into realities of humanity, sustainable? If so, it is high time for us to grow over this hypocrisy and making too much fuss on petty things 2G scam, Lokpal, Black money, Money for vote, 26/11, 13/7, land and mining scams, various isms and what not, and quickly indulge seriously in inventing bio-medical solutions to change human nature by some sort of vaccine to save the planet and the whole humanity with it.
