Corruption is to expelled from bottom and hence Anna's JanLokPal bill demand is genuine.  I heard Annaji & team repeatedly talking about let the JLPBill be presented to parliament and they (Team Anna) will accept the parliament's decision.

I failed to understand what is the process and is Team Anna is confident of getting it passed?  As the people to vote for/against the bill are not in favor of Team Anna's bill, then how Team Anna suggesting to put it in parliament?  OR is it like, once you put in in parliament you can't withdraw it? And thats the reason Govt is not putting Team Anna's bill in parliament?  And if parliament rejects the Team Anna's bill what options left with Team Anna?  If parliament can reject the JLPBill why Team Anna forcing it to put it across parliament?

Needed insights...

No, it will not pass the Parliament test simply because numbers in Parliament is against the bill. Moreover, in stead of sticking to the demand of getting the Janlokpal Bill (with its verbatim intact) passed, Team Anna should push for issues. Law making should be left to Parliament and issue raising and pushing its inclusion in the bill should be social activists' focus. Doing this, they can easily weaken the govt's opposition and erode support for it. This movement will then become more Gandhian in methods and spirit.

Varun Gandhi, MP from BJP, is taking independent initiative to present Anna's Jan Lokpal Bill  as a Private Member's Bill in the Lok Sabha shortly.

Yes this is correct.

If the Government fails to read the sentiments of millions of people who have come on streets to protest, the survival of the UPA government would be at stake,

No, the government will win ultimately. BJP is behaving like a drunkard. Muralidharan has pointed this.." I doubt whether he(Varun Gandhi) got any concurrence from his own BJP party.  In that event, this private member's bill will not get passed". so, If this government falls and the BJP comes to power, will it pass Anna's Bill? NO.

After a year of these tamaashas, INC will be back to power because people will soon realize that these people (both Anna and the BJP) are just a joke....as in 1977.

Nilesh, your points are very valid.  As such, the entire issue seems so confusing.   Adding to this confusion, one more dimension is emerging.

As per constitution, Parliament is the ultimate authority to legislate an Act.  Varun Gandhi, MP from BJP, is taking independent initiative to present Anna's Jan Lokpal Bill  as a Private Member's Bill in the Lok Sabha shortly.  In the Parliament history, such private member's bill never got passed in the past.  I doubt whether he got any concurrence from his own BJP party.  In that event, this private member's bill will not get passed.  This will become a futile exercise.

Alternatively, the civil society should build the pressure on government to involve larger audience to work out a via media between the two (the one presented by the cabinet after approval, and the one drafted by civil society, i.e. Anna's team) considering every aspect of the bills.  Some of the learned Jurists have pointed out some flaws in the both the drafts which needs to addressed before the Bill gets passed.  The Parliament Standing Committee should take a strong view now to engage with the civil society to get this properly amended so that the bill in conformance to the requirements from larger cross-section of society should get passed in the Parliament, if not in the monsoon session, at least in the winter session.

If the Government fails to read the sentiments of millions of people who have come on streets to protest, the survival of the UPA government would be at stake, as the silent protest because of hardening stand would snowball into a different dimension which would then be very difficult to counter!
