Games in Oracle? No, the games reference here is like the “games” in Olympic Games. The athletes competing in games at that level are serious about what they do, and you can pretty much bet the farm they are passionate about their sport or event as well. As an Oracle DBA, how serious – and passionate – are you about your job? Is job even the right word here? For serious practitioners, profession is probably a better choice. The “games” or events we’re going to play, more specifically, what we learn from them, in this article are practical and necessary skills a DBA should have at his or her disposal.

One of my friends joins a company (big giant in Consulting, Outsourcing and Technology) and he was promised that he would be flying to the US for transition, so he took a lateral movement from a role of Team Coach to a role of SME. He couldn t go to the US because of some business issues. HR offered him less package, he accepted the offer because for the first time he was flying and off course because of the transition experience. The HR person who interviewed him did not tell him about the sub-levels in the organization and he accepted the offer. After a month, he comes to know that he joined on a role of SME on the lowest sub-level and when he raised his concern he was told that they brie...

Your friend cannot blame the Company, provided it had mentioned the level details in its offer letter. Then it is your friend's responsibility to enquire about the details before he accept the offer. But this situation happens to many people.
