The fee hike is justified, because two classes of people are different. Like Taxation scheme the higher income groups are different than lower income groups. However at the same time the Court fees for poor/middle class litigants should be...

No i don't agree with Anant, they are just implementing this fee hike in a wrong time, when there is financial crisis that is upon the corporate houses all over, a fee hike is much more burden on their budget woes that is already there.
Sudarshan  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  3 years ago
I Agree. Litigation in India is a Luxury. The Common Man should be spared and there should be differential treatment of the Corporate Bodies and the Common Man

2 Reexamining Equity Investments
Rajeev Khare  |  Added idea  "Avoiding Contractual Obligations"  |  3 years ago
I think parties are examining their contractual terms to find a way to avoid performance of their contractual obligations. For example, we are advising a manufacturer of a particular product in an exclusive supply arrangement with a US buyer in...
Nitesh Jain  |  Added idea  "Reexamining Equity Investments"  |  3 years ago
I could say investments which might appear attractive before the financial crisis are now being re-examined. We have come across venture capitalists failing to honor financial commitment to inject funds into ventures in China notwithstanding...
sonam sharma  |  Supported idea  "Avoiding Contractual Obligations"  |  2 years ago
Thats the best way to avoid contractual obligations, but it is alot complicated and costly as it involves looking for the appropriate applicable law to prove a breach and could end up in long and expensive dispute reslotution.

Personally, I think Indian law firms are far off from the 'market turbulence' compared to several other jurisdictions such as Germany, Spain and many others. In the Indian context, firms may however need to refine and/or demonstrate client...

There will be a healthy competition which will open more opportunity and expansion to the legal field and the lawyers and shall also provide a new path and height to the legal profession with better opportunities to the indian lawyers.

Foreign law firms with common law background can be invited in our country because the basic training will remain around common law. They will provide excellent opportunities to lawyers in india. Lawyers in India can work with foreign law firms...

Anti-Terrorism laws need a slight tweaking.Ther should no trials, no courts and a single judgement - Death sentence with a bullet. Result - Faster disposal of cases, fair judgement and of course lot savings of taxpayers' money.
Nihit Jain  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  10 months ago
We need a Disciplined and honest Government 1st.... rest everything will be in place. A simple example is "Jan Lokpal" ... Very effective but still govt needs to modify it... the question is simple "Y"
Rajeev Khare  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  3 years ago
Yes it needs a revamp badly,  like in the UK, the Terrorism Act 2006, which was enacted after the July 7 2005 London bombings, allows detention for 28 days of any suspect without any charges. This will help prevent terrorism in a broader way..
