We were a closed economy till 1990 when we had to face a serious balance of payments crisis and we had to embrace liberalisation. We had a drastic shift in our trade policy in 1990 when P.V.Narasimha Rao was Priminister. We have seen tremendous inflow of funds, over all growth, growth in employment opportunities, increase in exports and a good share in service sector after we have changed our policy.      Now, India is one of the fast growing nations in the world along with China and Brazil. Along with this GDP growth and over all growth, investing in Indian Secondary Market and also Primary Market has grown. Its true that we have been seeing many frequent fluctuations and it is very...

The bottom line is if you lack experience and don’t have time for research then go for the indirect route or seek professional help, mutual funds, ulips etc. Markets never reward speculators consistently. Overreaction, acting on tips etc should be...

Chindia is a word that refers to China and India together in general and their economies in particular. The credit of coining the now popular term goes to Jairam Ramesh, a politician affiliated with Indian National Congress Party and now a cabinet minister. China and India are geographically proximate, are both regarded as growing countries and are both among the fastest growing major economies in the world. Together, they contain about one-third of the world's population. They have been named as countries with the highest potential for growth in the next 50 years in a Goldman Sachs BRIC report. I have been analyzing Chinindia’s growth for a long time now (to be specific almost 18 months no...

Nice and logical analysis. We are struggling to grow in major areas because of bureaucratic policy.
sujit Kumar  |  Commented  |  2 years ago
We are struggling due to beaurocracy-true as someone told. But we are way ahead in terms of being entrepreneur. The growth of china has been unbridled also because of the expatriate's love towards its country and importance given to them. we...

As a member of Bar, as part of privileged profession and as a citizen of this great nation, I used to think so deeply about the legal profession, judicial system and as to how to ensure that public truely trust Judiciary. Nobody can deny that the standards in the legal profession are being degraded day-by-day and our Judiciary is not functioning to the extent required. Many used to show reasons like delay, obsolete laws, corruption, lack of infrastructure, salaries etc. as a reasons for this state. It is the responsibility of all the citizens, educated and the members of Bar especially to think as to how to restore the dignity of profession and the Judiciary and we need to fight for proper ...

Nice and valuable suggestion, send it to Law Commission. Now Dr. A.R.Lakshmanan [Retd., Supreme Court Judge] is chairperson, he will definitely take some efforts to meet those criteria by recommending it to Govt.

Peeyush Chauhan  |  Supported idea  "Corruption"  |  11 months ago
At macro level itself, there seems to be a non-exhaustive list of factors responsible for the aggravated form of judiciary. Amongst all, the top slot has been occupied by the corruption that may be invisible to most of us but has made its presence...

Several factors are affecting delay in decisions. They are 1. Shortage of Judges and staff 2. corruption 3. Lack of idealistic training in Judicial Academy.Eg. We have withdrawn a civil suit because the case becomes infructuos. But for the objection...

In what other language do people drive in a parkway and park in a driveway? Why does night fall but never break and day break but never fall? Why is it that when we transport something by car, it's called a shipment, but when we transport something by ship, it's called cargo? Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists? In what other language do thay call the third hand on the clock the second hand? Why is it called a TV set when you get only one? Why - in our crazy language - can your nose run and your feet smell? Sometimes you have to believe that all English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane: If olive oil is ...

While it surely is crazy, its partly due to ignorance & more to do with our inability to diffentiate between verbs, nouns & adjectives! But, well written humour!

Hi All, Congratulations, Few of the Indian T V Channels are eligible to be certified as 'A', means they can say strictly for adults only. Recently, and in past, few of the ads were banned. Now its time to certify the programmes/ channels to be viewed only by 18 and above. I believe there are few channels in India which telecast the program that are unappropriate to kids. To mention, 'ROADDIES', 'GETTGORGGEUS', and etc. These are the channels they pretend to be westernised and dont think about the target audiances. I am not that sure wether these programs are watched by kids, but i am damn sure atleast one kid in 1000 will watch and try to learn unwanted rubbish. The Indian Law has to take s...
