Jan 2009 - Sep2009 Larsen and Toubro Ltd., Mumbai - India Senior Embedded Software EngineerAug 2005 - Dec 2008 Projects Details Projects at Intelligent Energy Ltd Project: Upgrade of Fuel Cell Balance of Plant (BOP) control software for Suzuki Description: BOP components include a DC-DC convertor, fans, purge valves and an array of Cell voltage monitoring ICs. The project involved understanding the existing BOP software written in PIC Basic using a super loop architecture, and upgrading it to a real time operating system based architecture. Also improved DC-DC convertor drive software using high speed PWM and PID control was implemented. Improved State machines for fan control and valve control were also implemented. Maintainability and debuggability of the overall software was also improved resulting in better health monitoring of the system. Tools and Environment: Microchip MPLAB X, FreeRTOS for dsPIC33F, Stateflow , QP state machine framework,PCAN Explorer 5. Role: Software Analysis and Design Code development and testing Projects at Tactiq Ltd Project: q-RT PCR Machine Middleware Description: Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is a variant of polymerase chain reaction (PCR), a laboratory technique commonly used in molecular biology to generate many copies of a DNA sequence, a process termed amplification . The project involved development of .NET Class Library for a new generation of RT-PCR machines. The class library was interfaced with a Silverlight user interface and was responsible for thermal cycling, measuring the fluorescence at each cycle and calculation of the cycle threshold at the end of the amplification cycle using various methods like maximum slope and HRMC curves. Also the software used to perform statistical data analysis on the measured fluorescence data. Tools and Environment: Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Role: Requirement Analysis Software Analysis and Design Code development and testing Project: Upgrade of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Imaging Software Description: The second generation of this OCT imaging software is targeted at in-vivo and ex-vivo medical research applications. The system is an instrument that is dedicated to the purpose of acquiring OCT and visual images of human tissue. The software is written in C# using Dot NET framework 3.0. The new software provides user interface enhancements to improve the usability of the application and also a number of new features which include Single Frame DICOM/TIFF export of OCT frames, Colour LUT, focal grid and other annotations , comparison of acquired images with reference images in database. This version of the software introduces a usage log based to time units to provide a platform to explore pay as you scan billing to the product. Tools and Environment: Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SQL Server 2008 Express Edition Lead Tools Dot NET library v17.5 with Medical viewer Role: Requirement Analysis Software Analysis and Design Code development and testing Project: Medical device for treating swallowing dysfunction using electrical stimulation Description: The project involves development of a medical device for applying electrical stimulation to the throat muscles. This device had an OMAP 3503 as the primary processor with Embedded Linux responsible for running QT based touch screen user interface application and a PIC 24F for controlling the pulse generator electronics. The device has advanced data logging and authentication capabilities including SHA-1 authentication and is designed in compliance with the IEC 62304 software processes. I was also involved in Linux platform development activities for the device including setting the pin multiplexing, configuring sound, configuring frame buffer for SVGA,handling, USB mounting and configuring 1 wire device driver in kernel for the battery interface. Tools and Environment: Embedded Linux (Angstrom Linux) SBC with Open Embedded framework, QT embedded v4.7, MPLAB for PIC 24, Microchip C30 compiler Role: Requirement Analysis System Analysis and Design Code development and testing Project Management Team Size: 4 Projects at the University of Sheffield Project: Data mining in uncertain data using a Granular Computing framework (April-2010- September 2010) Description: Real industrial, medical, environmental etc. data very often contain process noise, spurious measurements and outliers that contribute to a very difficult data mining task. Extracting knowledge from uncertain data becomes even more difficult if the process under investigation has very complex inter-variable relationships. Granular Computing (GrC) is a relatively new framework of data mining with focus on simplicity, system transparency and interpretability. In this project we use a GrC framework combined with probabilistic measures to extract knowledge from a benchmark dataset; with the extracted knowledge being in a linguistic form. I will also be developing a MATLAB toolbox for Granular Computing Tools and Environment: Matlab, Simulink, Fuzzy Logic Toolbox, Neural network toolbox Role: Requirement Analysis System Analysis and Design Code development and testing Team Size: 2 Projects at Landis+Gyr AG Project: Upgrade of EM5300 series of poly-phase meters for Australian Market (April-2009- September 2009) Description: The EM5300 is a high functionality 0.2 Class Electricity meter which had been in the field for over ten years now and product management had identified a few changes both in the metrology and host side The project involved following changes on the metrology side: Improving the accuracy of zero crossing counters as it was used for internal timekeeping on the host side. This was done by adding a high order 257 tap FIR filter to filter out the harmonics Making Phase indication threshold configurable from the host 4 cycles RMS measurement for sag swell indication. Previously the meter sent 32 cycle RMS data to the host And the following changes on the host side Replacing FRAM with a low cost high granularity flash for storing LP data Adding phase detection threshold as a configurable parameter and doing sag swell measurement on the 4 cycle data Adding a new low cost Ethernet controller for TCP/IP connectivity with DHCP Tools and Environment: Visual DSP++ for Analog Devices 218x, IAR Embedded Workbench for MSP 430, Sciforma PSNext Role: Project Lead Project Management Code development and testing Team Size: 5 Projects at Larsen and Toubro Ltd Project: Data Sniffer Application (Onsite: Essen, Germany, Technical Contact) (Sept 2007 -June 2008) Description: The project involved development of a Monitoring Application which is used for real-time monitoring of signals present within an embedded device and transmit it along with timestamp via TCP/IP to a PC Application The Application displays the data and also logs it in an XML File The various signals monitored are SPI, UART, Analog voltage levels and events (digital pulses) Tools and Environment: NXP LPC 2294 microcontroller, Keil UVision3 IDE with Keil C ARM Compiler Role: Presented Proof of concept to clients technical team at onsite location Requirements Gathering System Analysis and design Code development(DHCP Client, Device drivers for SPI,UART,Capture-Compare etc Testing. Team Size: 3 Project: BACnet Test Tool (Offshore: German Building Automation Major, Technical Contact) (April 2007-Sept 2007) Description: The project involved up gradation of a BACnet Server an open source project with capability to query BACnet devices on the Ethernet/IP network using the Read property or Read Property Multiple Service and display all the properties on HTML pages on demand to at least two Windows-XP clients without crash for 48 hours. Tools and Environment: Ubuntu / Fedora core 5 Linux Eclipse IDE Visual test Shell (VTS) for analysis of BACnet packets Polyspace Verifier for C Role: Requirements Gathering System Analysis and design Code developme | ||

I think we should go for 4G rather then 3G ,i think we have missed the bus when it comes to 3G ,with 4G we can leapfrog into the league of the elite few who are just launchin 4G....As per technical goes if it can be done in US then it sure as hell can... |
