Yes I agree with you. Caste can't be a deciding factor, poverty is a better factor. If possible post it as a debate, it can't be an idea contest.

Selection of suitable site for cross drainage works The factors which affect the selection of suitable type of cross drainage works are : Relative bed levels and water levels of canal and drainage Size of the canal and drainage. The following considerations are important When the bed level of the canal is much above the HFL of the drainage, an aqueduct is the obvious choice. When the bed level of the drain is well above FSL of canal, super passage is provided. The necessary headway between the canal bed level and the drainage HFL can be increased by shifting the crossing to the downstream of drain age. If, however, it is not possible to change the canal alignment, a siphon aqueduct may be p...

How Architectural Features Affect Buildings During Earthquakes? Importance of Architectural Features The behavior of a building during earthquakes depends critically on its overall shape, size and geometry, in addition to how the earthquake forces are carried to the ground. Hence, at the planning stage itself, architects and structural engineers must work together to ensure that the unfavorable features are avoided and a good building configuration is chosen.
John Jacob  |  Commented  |  1 year ago
Well - I think this should be addressed in the project scope, maybe a paragraph should be there explaining what will be done to protect a structure from earthquakes. I think this propsal has to come from the stakeholders of the project, maybe at...

Earthquake  Resistant Buildings   Seismic effects on the structure Effect of Inertia in a building when shaken at its base   Earthquake causes shaking of the ground. So a building resting on it will experience motion at its base. From Newton’s First Law of Motion, even though the base of the building moves with the ground, the roof has a tendency to stay in its original position. But since the walls and columns are connected to it, they drag the roof along with them. This tendency to continue to remain in the previous position is known as inertia. In the building, since the walls or columns are flexible, the motion of the roof is different from that of the ground (Figure 1). Effect of Defor...

if central govt. make a planning committee consisting of top level engineers, architects, town planners, transport authorities and also one or two members of each state then only the cities of India will be comfortable for all.

If you ask me, what is more important is urban decentralization. Look at Delhi. Is there any dearth of development ? Is there any shortage of money pouring in? How many flyovers have been constructed in the last 10 years?Did you find any...

Inspections are done loyally only if the inspecting authorities are not paid. but this is never done by any company/builder/contractor. So it is truly said by u that inspecting authorities not even visit the sites
Anjaneyula Reddy  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  1 year ago
No most of the government officials don't even visit the site and give the report, that it is built under all standards. But only when some incident happens they are concerned about it. For example one of my friend had a workshop and he got it...

CONCRETE MIX DESIGN Definition: Mix design can be defined as the process of selecting suitable ingredients of concrete and determining their relative proportions with the object of producing concrete of certain minimum strength and durability as economically as possible. One of the ultimate aims of studying the various properties of the materials of concrete, plastic concrete and hardened concrete is to enable a concrete technologist to design a concrete mix for a particular strength and durability. The design of concrete mix is not a simple task on account of the widely varying properties of the constituent materials, the conditions that prevail at the site of work, in...
