WORK EXPERIENCE Regional Head-India East Region and Bangladesh, City and Guilds International, (Nov04 - Present) (One of the worlds largest vocational, technical and higher technical awarding bodies with a presence in over 100 countries. It offers 500 different qualifications across more than 22 occupations and qualifies 1.8 million learners annually) Key responsibilities include identifying and liaising with prospective clients including Educational Bodies, identifying and filling gaps in client product lines, evaluating business requirements and allocating resources to meet them and tracking future market /industry trends of requirement by surveying current and potential customers. Other responsibilities include identifying customer support requirements, providing strategic inputs to the South Asia Office/Head Office and designing and developing Standard Operating Policies / Customer Service Standards. Strategize and executed entry into Bangladesh. Handled Bangladesh subsequently in addition to Eastern India. Expanded annual sales from a nil base to over Rs. 7 million in Bangladesh and over Rs. 6 million in Eastern India over a period of 4 years. Number of centers grew from 3 to 40 in Eastern India and from zero to 28 in Bangladesh over the same period. Key role in successfully signing an MOU with British Council Dhaka to administer tests in Bangladesh. Zonal Head-Eastern Region, NECC Logistics (Feb04-Oct04) Led a team of 18 direct and 8 in-direct reports to provide customized material and logistics management solutions to clients. Other responsibilities included logistic requirement planning, forecasting customer market and establishing metrics for tracking and improving forecasting efficiency and variance. Identified, evaluated and selected vendors. Conducted vendor process audits and established corrective and preventive action plans and executed them thereafter. Ensured adherence to ISO 9001 - 2000 standards and other safety standards. Took end-to-end ownership for setting up a Regional Operations HUB. Won several new client accounts - ESAB, Philips and Electrosteel Castings. Generated sales of over Rs. 2.7 million within 4 months of joining. Centre Manager, NIIT Limited (Mar01-Jan04) P and L leader for the branch. Managed promotions to generate new business. Designed and executed strategic plans to improve profitability and brand recognition. Led a team of 28 staff with student strength of 1200-1400 and annual revenue of Rs. 40 - 50 million. Awarded the first prize across the country for spreading computer literacy awareness (2001 - 2002). Ranked the third best centre nationally for revenue generation and adherence to quality (2002 - 2003) Generated additional business of Rs. 1.6 Million by launching an education program in the North Eastern States.
