The death toll in Up train accident now is 53.. This included some people wiht Swedish nationality too. There are about 250 people who are being treated at hospital. Kalka mail got derailed on sunday at 12.20 pm. the train was moving at 180 km/hr. It is said that there was no fault in the track and the cabinman had told him that when the train was close to pole number 927/23, its engine started shaking and emitting smoke, soon after which the mishap took place. The tracks need to be upgraded to with stand the vibrations of such high speed trains. The over head traction cable also needs to be checked thoroughly along with the train bogies.
