I was surprised to see Sharp named aside Samsung & Sony. Both these brands are streets ahead of Sharp,though as every insider knows Sharp has always maintained a much higher quality than its competition.

private lable in consumer goods(electronics). it will not work that much. beacause the electronic goods are expensive in that consumer may not take intrest if they are private lable which is own brand name of any retail co. in consumer goods...

Yes, so long that they continue selling branded goods as well, they can pull the customer on the established brand name try to convert him to thier own brand. As for the long run, they need to keep the quality as assured.

Every retailer will in the long run promote his own private brand which will help him recover margins he losses retailing known brands in a competitive market.
