First learn OOPS concepts and basics of C#. This will make your life easier.Analyze or study existing source codes and learn to debug. Then you can start building small code shots. Hope this helps you.

Its Depends up on your area of skill..... if you are good in OOPs concept and wanted to remains in it... go for C#...... and C# is mainly prefered in Industry too.
