Ya definitely one should go for skills. Marks and percentage can only help a little. You might get some preference while getting placed from the campus, but after that only your skills and talent will help you in your achievements ahead.

I hate those who see first marks on cv rather than skills interests. suppose a freshers got 65% in BE/B.tech but not having even 60% mark in 10th or 12th , then he or she is not eligible to Most of the IT companies. shame on Indian education...

Some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, “This is for you, Daddy.” He was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty. He yelled at her, “Don’t you know that when you give someone a present, there’s supposed to be something inside it?” The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said,”Oh, Daddy, it is not empty. I blew kisses into the box. All for you, Daddy.” The fat...

The McKinsey Quarterly has published an interview with Tom Sanzone, Chief Information Officer of Credit Suisse . This interview talked about his leadership principles, the challenges of integrating diverse IT cultures, and the evolving role of the CIO. Some remarks in this interview attracted my attention. I would like to discuss the role of IT (and therefore the role of the CIO) on the executive board level, and Credit Suisse’s approach to IT driven innovation. Whereas Credit Suisse is taking the lead in IT and Business integration, it is lagging behind with it’s innovation practice. IT and Business Integration Although many companies nowadays realize the importance of Information Technolo...

What is stopping you from getting what you want in life? Your friends? Your family? A sense that failure – or success – might change your life and that feeling uncomfortable? A sense that the people around you might disapprove of you aiming for what you want, of you succeeding or failing. Essentially it boils down to fear. The big roadblock, sometimes the massive wall in the middle of road that keeps you from getting what you want. How to overcome it? Here´s some useful ways I have found so far. 1. Taking small steps This is good for fear that can seem overwhelming at first. For instance the strong feeling – it can almost feel like a flight or fight-response – just before doing public spea...
