STEEL,MINING,PORT,SHIPPING AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Accountabilities: Logistics / Procurement  Working as Head of all Branch Offices i.e. Bacheli / Kirandul Sector, Bellary Hospet Sector and Goa sector looking after the purchase and logistics (rail/sea) of about 3.5 million tonnes of bulk raw material and responsible for a business of Rs.1000 crores at Vizag, 0.5 million tons of cargo through Paradip Port and 0.5 million tons of cargo through Haladia.  Handling shipment of bulk minerals like Iron Ore, Pellets, Lime Stone, Quartzite and Sinter, Port Operations, Shipping Activities like Despatch/Demurrage Calculation and Presentation of same to top management .  Overseeing Shipping and logistics planning (Rail/Road) for 3.5 million tons of cargo through Vizag Port, 0.5 million tons of cargo through Paradip Port and 0.5 million tons of cargo through Haladia.  Devising efficient Logistics Management System to ensure delivery of the goods / shipments as per committed timelines and cost.  Formulating and implementing the strategies for purchase of the materials in consideration with the lead time requirements.  Managing effective & efficient costing system resulting in cost reduction, business process and procedures for improving performances.  Preparing MIS reports of inward / outward logistics with a view to appraise top management and customers of the routine inventory management activities.  Framing the costing & proposal for logistic solution. Vendor Management  Identifying and developing potential vendors/ suppliers for achieving cost effective purchases of materials; achieving reduction in prices and timely delivery.  Assessing performance of the vendors based on various criterions such as percentage for rejections, quality improvement, timely delivery, credit terms etc.  Following with vendors for timely deliveries, release schedules, quality checks and timely payments.
