Atypical farm burns vast quantities of fossil fuels to plow fields, sow seeds, reap harvests and truck products many miles to population centers. It spreads heaps of petroleum-based fertilizers, which then run off into streams and watersheds. It also consumes rivers of freshwater and casts pesticides across the countryside. Raising chickens and pigs further insults the earth with unhygienic filth. Why not grow grains, vegetables and fruits right where the expanding crowds of consumers are: in the middle of a city, inside a tall glass building? Poultry and pork could be reared there, too. A vertical farm would drastically reduce the fossil-fuel use and emissions associated with farm machiner...

PROUT suggests that increases in per capita income are not a sufficiently reliable and scientific index to determine the standard and progress of a particular socio-economic unit. Rather, this approach is misleading and deceitful, because it refers to a simple mathematical calculation of total national income divided by total population. This does not give the correct picture of the standard of living of the people of a particular socio-economic unit, as the wealth disparity in society is concealed. Per capita income shows the mean and not the variation of income distribution. If inflation is also considered, the reliability of per capita income is further reduced. On the other hand, purcha...

Mr. Subramaniyan i definitely agree with you. Per capita income is definitely not the right criteria to measure economic prosperity, as you rightly said that if people can't afford to purchase the basic necessities then what is the point in having...

I want an increase in the per capita income, as most of the equillibrium in the country is not in balance where still rich is richer and poor is becoming more poorer, so if the per capita income is increased where the population is having a sustained...

Hi Sukhendu Ghosh, "Per capita income shows the mean and not the variation of income distribution.' So, even if per capita income is high, how you can ensure people have good purchasing power and they are happy? It is like inflation is 0.33% but...

According to me investment returns are a function of price and this could be the best price you could get. Any SIP works best when markets are going lower. So, if you have a good scheme, continue with the SIP.

Rohini Sondkar  |  Added idea  "Not comforable with Financial advisor"  |  3 years ago
Falling to build rapport with the advisor as you and your family members are not comfortable disclosing your finance and discussing it with an open mind. Its better to choose some one with whom you feel comfortable.
