Brief summary :
Sr. Software Engg. Design and implementation of an application enabling Thomas Cook customers to buy financial instruments on the internet. Lead modules for projects on J2EE technologies for Thomas Cook, CFASA. (Exposure to some tools had been in projects 5 or more years back) 2001-Till date GXS / GE Bangalore, Karnataka, India Multiple web applications and web services for an Enterprise level SOA based B2B hosted application, to handle registration and administration of GXS Trading Grid. Role: Associate Project Manager and Lead Engineer This has been a big sized project spanning over several years involving multiple teams across the globe. I was involved in the development of framework (using struts) with rudimentary implementations to ease development and speed up common tasks required for development of multiple components. My role required requirements gathering, interaction with marketing, defining and designing integration points with multiple components developed by other teams, designing and architecting the my components. Introduced configurability, extensibility and high availability in the product with constant improvements and innovations. Required me to stretch on improving my communication and design skills to realize the integration of multiple components. Multiple versions of this the components were successfully deployed and supported. Product for Requirements Order and Shipment Management. Role: Lead Engineer My role required requirement gathering, interaction with marketing, re-design, refactoring for performance and scalability, improving traceability and enhancement of an existing web based J2EE application. Lead a team of 4+. Worked with global teams. Application was successfully developed, deployed and supported in production environments. Challenge included, coordinating and managing the requirements, redesign and refactoring without immensely impacting a live product and delivered within extremely short timelines, supporting and resolving customer issues with a short turn arount time. Product for Reverse Auctioning and managing RFQs. Role: Lead Engineer My role required requirement gathering, interaction with marketing, design, refactoring for performance and scalability, improving traceability and enhancement of an existing web based J2EE application. Lead a team of 5+. Worked with global teams. Application was successfully developed, deployed and supported in production environments. Challenge included, coordinating and managing the requirements, redesign and refactoring without immensely impacting a live product and delivered within extremely short timelines, supporting and resolving customer issues with a short turn arount time. 2000-2001 Tenet Technologies Bangalore, Karnataka, India XML based protocol to access remote objects for Nokia Role: Senior Systems Engineer This was a project `Club Nokia for Nokia, Finland. I had been involved in three different modules/tasks within the project from design and the implementation. The first task consisted of implementing a Java Class Generator. This involves developing a Java application generating Java class source code from XML schema files. The final Java class generated should be such that, given the XML instance, the corresponding object can be created and on the other hand given the Java instance it should generate its corresponding XML. It involved extensive cases of mapping XML schema to Java classes. All the types of XML schema to Java class mappings were identified. Ther XML parser classes were developed to implement these mappings. XML schema was first converted using XSL transformations to an XML file of self-defined format so that the Java coding does not depend directly on the schema specifications but our own schema format. This application was used in the next module where parameters and return values in classes were to be generated through this application. The second module task involved enabling bean method execution using JEAP (Java Enterprise Access Protocol) which is like SOAP. The project involved a design where a vendors Enterprise Java Bean needed to be accessed from a Java or non-Java client. The Java clients could access the bean using RMI or through JEAP while non-Java clients needed to access through JEAP, an XML based protocol to access remote objects through the server side stub by sending the request as an XML. Given any bean we needed to generate the customised stub (and home) which could generate a request in XML format (which could later be converted to request to the actual vendor stub on the server). Further this also involved implementing a Context class for locating the customised stub (which generates XML based requests) using JNDI. The third task involved creating a Proxy where the resources in the web pages accessed could be memory cached and disk cached. This involved extensive thread programming and synchronisation techniques using reader and writer locks. The application required constant polling mechanism to keep the cache updated. I had been responsible for identifying all possible cases of XML schema and their optimal mapping into Java classes. I have been actively involved in deciding upon the methodology and techniques implementation of this schema to Java conversion (done by creating XML templates of the Java classes). I had been involved in the design and identification of classes for all the above implementations. I had been actively involved in designing the customised XML schema and the XSL file to bring about the corresponding transformation. The generation of customised stub for remote access by non-Java clients and also the customised implementation of Context interface for locating stubs using JNDI had been one of my primary tasks. I had been solely responsible for the implementation of the proxy, using appropriate caching and polling techniques. I had been responsible for implementation for reader-writer locks in context of the application. Component repository manager for Nokia Role: Senior Systems Engineer The project involved developing a component repository manager, which served as an interface to access, check in, check out, components, applications (consisting of other components) and their documentations into a component repository. The application based on Java Swing API had a rich GUI interface. The user should have been able to make a connection to a repository for which he had permissions. The application interface then showed up the components and the applications within the repository in a hierarchical structured tree format. The user had access to the properties, execution conditions, and documentations of the components. The user could browse the HTML documentation in Javadoc format about the components and the application (within swing components). The user could check in, check out new components, applications binary files along with their properties, execution conditions and their documentations. The application also provided several utilities as jar package creation utility to create a jar package from the selected files in the local file system, utilities for creation of new execution conditions and component types to identify components. The application was implemented using the MVC++ architecture. The model classes accessed the repository interface methods to communicate with the repository thereby ensuring a possibility of having repository on various databases. The application covered the repository implementation for an Oracle and file system based component repository. I was actively involved in identifying, designing and implementation of the classes in accordance with the MVC++ architecture. 1998-2000 Wipro Technologies Bangalore, Karnataka, India Web based appli | ||
