The term Business Support Systems or BSS typically refers to "business systems" dealing with customer management (CRM, CSM etc), supporting processes such as taking orders(Order Management), Revenue Managment, processing bills, and collecting payments. The complimentary term Operations Support Systems (OSS) most frequently describes "network systems" dealing with the telecom network itself, supporting processes such as maintaining network inventory, mediation, provisioning services, configuring network components, and managing faults. The two systems together are often abbreviated BSS/OSS or simply B/OSS. This community shall serve as a platform for Telecom BSS/OSS Professionals to share their thoughts, emerging trends, innovative ideas, experiences, and knowledge in the telecom domain.
