i really agree with Mr. Khirod on the recycling thing and also to use less plastic bags or paper bags when they are doing shopping...by this will be reducing the use of plastic and less trees will be cut due to the use of paper...

Even God has gone green! In the times when everybody is talking about grass, leaves and vegetables, the Ganesha festival too went green in Goa this year. What coaxed the Goan government to take such measures? The green activists there ensured that floral offerings made to Lord Ganesha would be converted to compost, and this happened after ‘hard line protest’ by ‘green activists’. Today I read these three diferrent news story related to environment. 1. Desert geopark in China : What is a geopark ? Geopark is a place where rare geological landforms are preserved in an undisturbed state and where low impact recreation, scientific research, and educational activities can be pursued. The total planned area for this geopark is said to be 630.37 square km. It will be functioning as a museum as well as as scientific research center. 2. World Car free day : On September 22nd 200 cyclists celebrated World Car Free day by using cycles. This was an attempt to keep traffic jam and pollution at bay. Though the event went almost unnoticed and no similar effort was seen anywhere else.
