No doubt IPL 2010 was a greater success than 2008 and 2009 both in crowd pulling and revenue generation Infact the craze is so huge in India we actually supase the same for world cup and Olympics Obvious to this fact teh organisers have been very...

I am avid follower of cricket but as per stats IPL 2009 is on downside. The second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is in its first week and if one goes by the TV ratings the Twenty20 showpiece has failed to generate the kind of...

No, people will prefer to watch cricket match in theaters because watching cricket on TV in home is more comfortable than theaters, you can watch 3 hours movie in theaters but can't watch match continuous, because it is very boring task to go in...

When IPL was launched last year nobody has imagined that it's going to be huge success. Lalit Modi, organizer of IPL becomes a global icon in just a month of time. I think it's always good to try different innovative ideas/concept. Showing...

Since teams can not anyway be expected to participate twice in even T-20 it is better to for 40 or 50 overs match as this is better format to judge endurance.
Yash Singh  |  Argues in support of  "T20 format"  |  2 years ago
I think T20 is the right format to be allowed to play in olynmpics, its fast, its high on adrenalin and many countries by 2020 will be playing cricket's shortest form of game, which has caught's the world's attention, I don't think test match and...

Hi friends.... I have just collated some facts on how IPL has changed life of some people I was astonish to see that IPL’s magic wand is changing the way cricketers think about earning money.... Story of Kamran Khan: Sleeping on railway platforms and going hungry was Kamran Khan's daily, depressing routine as he struggled with abject poverty in his dusty home town of Azamgarh in eastern India. But the advent of the Indian Premier League has turned things around for the teenager. A raw left-arm pace bowler, Khan was picked by Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural winners of the glitzy Twenty20 tournament, after he impressed the bosses during trials in Mumbai. The selection came as a boon for Khan,...

100%. And why not?? The matches are being beamed LIVE in the privacy of my living room!! Its business after all for all concerned. The importance should not be unduly attached to it at all!!
Sasi Dash  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  2 years ago
No, I don't think so , tactical "timeout"is an innovation where in each innings now coming to a halt for seven-and-a-half minutes after 10 overs. In those minutes teams can take drinks and discuss the tactics strategies to be followed .
James Masih  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  2 years ago
The reality now is that cricket is a highly commercial entity. There is big money in cricket today, and much of is emanating from India. The organisers are not only aiming to provide a fantastic spectacle for the spectators, but they are also...

No Sanjeev I don't think so.If you are saying that watching IPL or cricket matches is a sheer waste of time then I would tell you to look at the benefits that a tournament like this has for the economy of the country.Like every other profession...
T.A.George  |  Added idea  "It is a National Waste"  |  2 years ago
I feel IPL is a National waste of time and energy . To day we see Sharuk Khan returned to India saying his team didnot win any match. That shows how selfish he is now he wil start creating ideas to win.

Even i agree with Sasi's observation that Orkut is more of a hangout stuff rather information gathering. But i will take a neutral stand in this. Because the way Ipl is pushing its presence in networking sites, it could attract a substantial...

As far as traffic is concerned, Orkut is no.1 social networking site in India and it would be interesting to see Orkut’s monetization strategy – after all, monetizing social networks is not an easy game.I think  monetization strategy will work.

I would also say that IPL is emerging as a great platform to advertise. Advertising is all about picking the right media with high viewership to get maximum visibility and brand recall. And IPL as a platform satisfies it all.
Sasi Dash  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  2 years ago
Apart from the primary sponsors there are many brands such as Wrigley’s Orbit chewing gum, Cinthol soap, Nivea skin care, Adidas, Sprite, etc.  that are looking to ride on the popularity of this event. But I don't feel that the impact would be as...

A product will fail in the long-run when it does not have intrinsic value to offer to customers. SRK is a great hero, not an actor. I think except for two films - which were 'director films' (Swadesh and Chak de)he has not able to show much in...

Brand SRK in fact hold many point of differnetiation from other brands. Some of the competetors are ageing amitabh, Stylish sallu, Strong and rocking akshay etc. What do you still think when someone is like coke with his own persona and charm.

SRK brand shall not be affacted. In a way, I hate this masala cricket n refuse to call it sports. However, talking objectively, SRK in his own arrogant attitude way, made some hard mistakes. It was n is simply business for him. He may not make...

Who is Sonia Gandhi: There is officially no Sonia Gandhi. Her real name in passport is neither Gandhi nor Sonia. Its Edvige Antonia Albina Maino. Sonia is a Russian name and not Italian. However, Antonia is an Italian name and her passport is Italian. Though she has married Rajiv Gandhi* she never accepted change of title officially. ( recall the time of turmoil in Indian politics when Sonia Gandhi was trying to be the prime minister, but ultimately Manmohan Singh became her toy) *Rajiv Gandhi: Actually Rajiv Khan being the son of Firoz Khan and Indira Priyadarshani. Gandhi is an assumed title to sentimentally lure indians for their political benefit. They are muslims by religion. Father: Stefano Eugene Maino is socially the father of Sonia. Her father was a German(Hitlers army). When Hitlers army went to Russia they were captured and imprisoned. He was captured near St. Petersburg and was imprisoned for 20 years. But he became a member of KGB and his imprisonment was limited to 4...
