About "Concurrent, Multi-core Programming on Windows and .NET" topic:

The leap from single-core to multi-core technology is altering computing as we know it, enabling increased productivity, powerful energy-efficient performance, and leading-edge advanced computing experiences. The good news is that Windows and .NET offer rich support for threading and synchronization to take advantage of these new platforms. And then the aim is to cover a broad range of topics, including mechanisms to create, coordinate, and synchronize among threads, best practices for concurrent libraries and applications and techniques for improving scalability, including lock free algorithms. The focus will be on .NET programming, including the next generation of parallel programming support within the Framework, but Windows internals and C++ nuggets will be discussed too. share your thoughts on this.

Multi-core processors are here. Once pervasive mainly in servers and desktop PCs, now multi-core processors are being used in mobile phones and PDAs, resulting in great benefits in power consumption. Responding to the increased availability of multi-processor platforms, Parallel Language Integrated Query (PLINQ) offers an easy way to take advantage of parallel hardware, including traditional multi-processor computers and the newer wave of multi-core processors. PLINQ is a query execution engine that accepts any LINQ-to-Objects or LINQ-to-XML query and automatically utilizes multiple processors or cores for execution when they are available. The change in programming model is tiny, meaning y...

Now a Days every products has some USP's and there is no some actual substitute goods present in the market. Therefore how you can differentiate and position your product in between of your competitors??? There is a very simple solution that mix a little bit of DREAM for your product in the minds of customer rather than differentiating your product.... For example Samsung selling their LED Panels by a tag line offering that  'Experience 3D'

In today's world of fast food, fast cars, and instant gratification, people expect to be in touch at all times. We have become conditioned to staying in touch with businesses, friends, and families. Because of this desire for instant data, we have the Internet, cell phones, Wi-Fi, MP3 players, and DVD players. As the equipment needed to drive this thirst has become smaller and smaller, we find ourselves looking for portable replacements for our bulky desktop computers. This article guides you into the exciting world of Windows mobile development so you can take advantage of an expanding opportunity to supply software to this burgeoning market. Getting Started There are currently two choices for producing mobile software using a Windows operating system: ActiveSync on XP, and—for Vista—a new interface built upon ActiveSync technology, called the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). In the recent CoDe Focus issue on Mobile PC Development (2007, Volume 4, Issue 2), Nick Landry's...

When I had heard about the Windows first I could not even understand what does it mean and why is named that way but eventually things changed and today we are here using Windows extensively and even a school boy will tell you what does it mean. Later on with times we I was just getting used to windows using my P4 and then on my laptop I heard of phones with such advanced technologies. Then came Blackberry which was excluisvely for business purpose. Then the Android overtook the iPhone in 2010 to become the most popular smartphone platform in the U.S. and the third-most popular handset (behind Symbian and BlackBerry) in the world. As Google continues to build out the Android Marketplace, and as it pushes both Android and Chrome into a variety of non-PC devices, Android looks like a good bet to be the Windows of the mobile world. However, operating systems in general will become much less important over time. One of the major changes ushered in by smartphones is the importance of the...

The SkyDrive service utilizes Windows Live ID to limit access to the files the user has uploaded, allowing them to keep the files private, share with contacts, or make the files public. Publicly-shared files do not require a Windows Live ID to access. Windows Live SkyDrive The service currently offers 5GB, with a maximum upload file size of 50MB.
