About "Construction Project Management" topic:

Construction Project Management is the overall planning, co-ordination and control of a project from inception to completion aimed at meeting a client’s requirements in order to produce a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorised cost and to the required quality standards. Most projects have targets, which means they have to built right, within a cost budget, and finished by a certain date. Project management is simply making sure that all these targets are met. Discuss here anything related to construction project management.

RESULT = Func(EFFORT, NOISE) EFFORT  = Your input (Decisions Actions) towards attainment of Set Goal or RESULT. The Success and % of Accompalishment of RESULT, also depends  on the NOISE. NOISE =  Negative Impact on account of Other's Input (Decisions Actions) If Noise is in your Favour, then you are Lucky       i.e. 100% EFFORT gives 100% RESULT If Noise is against you, then you are Unlucky        i.e. 100% EFFORT gives lesser than 100% RESULT At any case RESULTS can be at PAR or BELOW EFFORTS made but NOT ABOVE EFFORTS MADE... Hence, if anyone says I expected 80% in Exam but scored 85%, and he calls himself LUCKY... Then its wrong statement , he scored 85% because his efforts were at par ...

People say so much about luck playing a major factor in one's success, but after reading this one can say that one underestimated their own capability and thought that luck had a major role to play.

The other day I was in a restaurant and saw a sign advertising "Sliders Fridays." From what I gathered, they offered a deep discount on tiny hamburgers, called sliders, on Friday nights. The interesting thing about this discovery is that I own the restaurant and it's the first I knew of it. (Stacey's at Waterford:  www.eatatstaceys.com ) I don't just own the restaurant. I also manage it, although I use that term loosely. I've taken the concept of hands-off management to the next level. Most of the time I have no idea what the staff is up to. They organize customer events, execute marketing ideas, hire and fire, change the menu, and pretty much anything else they want. I only get involved if there is a largish expense that needs to be approved. I see the financials daily, by e-mail, but I'm mostly about the bottom line. As a well-known critic of managers, I painted a big red bulls eye on my back when I started managing the restaurant. For the first year I was involved in the details...

In many ways, a manager has to be a leader, so therefore a manager will have many of the traits that a leader does. However, I feel the term 'manager' applies primarily to business, it's in a manager's best interest to lead his co-workers effectively, encouraging them to achieve their goals and targets. In my experience, a leader is more of a social thing; more associated with team work, too. Go to Discussion http://lnkd.in/wUJe5E
