About "Corporate communication skills or content and knowledge???" topic:
As a communication trainer i always have an inclination towards excellent communication skills precisely in English as its most spoken corporate language. However i have come across VP's and AVP' s with extremely poor communication skill and with brilliant content and hardcore subjective knowledge. This debate is ongoing and there is no concrete answer to it. What do you think really counts?

Dear members, Here i would like to rais the topic that i faced when started working in my own state Orissa. I found 95% of the corporate using the local language for there professional communication. Few are using Hindi too. Use of English for internal or external communication is very rare. I would like to know your view about this. Please reply

1. Why do you want to work in this industry? Bad answer: “I love to shop. Even as a kid, I spent hours flipping through catalogues.” Don’t just say you like it. Anyone can do that. Focus instead on your history with that particular industry, and if you can, tell a success story. Good answer “I’ve always loved shopping, but my interest in retail marketing really started when I worked at a neighborhood boutique. I knew our clothes were amazing, but that we weren’t marketing them properly. So I worked with management to come up with a marketing strategy that increased our sales by 25% in a year. It was great to be able to contribute positively to an industry I feel so passionate about, and to ...

All interviews were not created equal. Depending on the role, the industry and the ruthlessness of your potential employer, you may encounter one – or a combination – of the common interview types. Each one is unique, and demands a tailored approach to its preparation. Lucky for you, we’ve identified the five most common interview methods. We’ll give you the low down on each, and tell you how to ace them. 1. The Traditional Interview What Is It? You know this interview. I know this interview. We’ve done it a million times. So why are we still so afraid of it? Interviews — no matter their style — are always tough. With traditional interviews, you need to be able to answer broad-based questio...

I'm a Communication Skills trainer myself and first off, I'd like to state that 'Communication Skills' does NOT mean proficiency in the English language . Unfortunately - for a lot of intelligent persons - this fallacy is quite popular. Thus, we find that quite a few of those who are proficient in English look down on those who are not. Intelligence and knowledge are NOT connected with the ability to speak in a particular language. In fact, if a person knows at least one language AND there is knowledge available in the medium of that language, there is no obstacle to learning and the gathering of knowledge. Communication skills are skills of communication - regardless of language. This mea...

Both are at the same time... having knowledge and less communication and at the same time good communication lack of knowledge of no use.... knowledge should be accompanied by communication vice-versa

Social entrepreneurship in India is making greater strides towards inclusiveness by involving every strata of society to tap into the momentum and growth of the country. However, in spite of several initiatives, social entrepreneurship eco-system in India is not coming together as well as it needs to. Their focus and collaboration on solutions should be directed towards not merely one-off acts of charity, but adding up to a vast array of sustainable services across sectors and industries that help people at the base of the pyramid, which is not happening in the country now. In the post-independent era, many enterprising men with social bent of mind had ventured into setting up educational institutions, which helped the country to move out of the chaotic state into a vibrant and democratic environment. But over the decades, these established institutions which laid the foundation for modern India, because of their sheer size, were forced to evolve into large business enterprises...

The English language has some wonderfully anthropomorphic collective nouns for the various groups of animals. We are all familiar with a Herd of cows, a Flock of chickens, a School of fish and a Gaggle of geese. However, less widely known is a Pride of lions, a Murder of crows (as well as their cousins the rooks and ravens), an Exaltation of doves and, presumably, because they look so wise, a Parliament of owls. Now consider a gathering of Baboons. They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates. And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons? Believe it or not ....... a Congress ! And, of course, the well known collective noun for a group of owls: PARLIAMENT! PS: Pl read it for fun only and without any political trappings. That's why I have put it in "OTHERS" category of Industry and not "POLITICS".
