Accounting of revenues costs in Entertainment Ind. 13 May 2010 2,927 views No Comment A common practice amongst media owners is the bundling of space across various products, programmes, channels, publications and portals. This makes the accounting of revenues or costs challenging. The Indian media and entertainment (M E) industry has transformed in the last 15 years. The segments within the industry include TV broadcasting, publishing, radio, new media, filmed entertainment, software production, music and events. Significant differences between Indian GAAP and IFRS, pose both accounting and business challenges . In many ways, a manager has to be a leader, so therefore a manager will have many of the traits that a leader does. However, I feel the term 'manager' applies primarily to business, it's in a manager's best interest to lead his co-workers effectively, encouraging them to achieve their goals and targets. In my experience, a leader is more of a social thing; more associated with team work, too. Go to Discussion http://lnkd.in/wUJe5E

I’m an old geezer on the community network who chips in here and there. Over a period of time I get a feeling that some of our less experienced members are not too sure about what to initiate as useful topics for discussion / debate. To help them out I have put together a set of five questions which they may ask themselves before initiating discussions. May I request more experienced members to chip in with more questions / suggestions / guidelines to make the whole process more purposeful. The set follows:- 1. does the topic add value / knowledge to the community? 2. is the topic worthy of attention / discussion? 3. will the topic lead to / inspire action? 4. will other members like to refer / share it with others? 5. will someone from our community benefit from the topic?
