About "Cricket-The loss of National Productivity Percapita" topic:

Its true that every people of different kind do their work. But in my view, why should any one leave their work to watch others job. Cricket though not an National Game of India is just the worship in the country. Indian cricketers have their job to play for the country irrespective of who watches them playing. But aren't the people fooling themselves by watching the game leaving all their work to dip the economy of percapita. A film  has two & half hours & can have the option of which one to be watched or not. But this game is not like the same, irresspective of whuch team plays, people are glued to TV sets & more what I see is standing in front of the TV showroom to watch.

Why dont we take a revolution to enhance our game, Hockey. Why can we publicise & show interest in our game. How many of the hockey players do we know except the hard strived & fed up player Dhanraj Pillai. His words are feable to the ears of negligible indians.

Well I dont watch any sports but still have the patriotic to be as our game.

exactly- Dhoni should be given rest and ask to play in few ranji matches like sehwag, as he has lost the plot, how did he made entry in India team , he came as a big bitter not a highest money earner by brands
Himanshu Pathak  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  2 years ago
Well, we have lost only one match and based on that, it won't be right to comment on Dhoni's performance. The problem with us was we were expecting too much from him. If he thinks he is presently not fit, he can temporarily resign to improve...

We all know how cricket in India is like, its a true Religion. We have been supporting it since its birth here. We maintained full house to support them wherever they play. And now IPL. BCCI has cashed alot on cricket, not surprising it is the richest board in the world. But somewhere i feel bad, DID BCCI DO ANYTHING FOR THE PEOPLE EXCEPT MAKING MONEY? I mean dont you feel it has responsibility to help people who supported it over decades. I dont remember it helping ppl in any sort. Take film industry for example, they were there to help people who made them. Take example of ANDHRA PRADESH it has encountered record floods last year lakhs of ppl suffered. Many people became homeless. You all ...

India Basks in Cricket Glory The euphoria of India’s historic Cricket World Cup win on April 2, and the showering of praise, gifts and honours on Team India, is both understandable and laudable. However, the Indian government would do well to sit back, have a long think and devise a strategy to wean this country off its total fixation on cricket. With 1.21 billion people hungry for international recognition, it’s time India branched out a little in the sporting arena. In the meantime, though, the 15-member Indian squad is at the receiving end of a breathtaking assortment of deals and handouts. President Pratibha Patil hosted a tea party for the new champions, while Prime Minister Manmohan S...

"Chak De" for the flow of money. It is great we have won world cup after 28 years. Really how many Man hours killed.Spent that huge money to built the nation in other sports too.So we will win more medals and good place in "Olympics".
Rathin Deb  |  Commented  |  10 months ago
Yash thanks for referral. See if you have nothing to hype about why not what is in hand. All the players are well paid and got additional money from BCCI hence what govt is giving additional money is not understandable particularly by CM of Delhi....

THIS IS LONG - THIS IS ALSO A MUST READ !!  Sri Lanka Foreign Minister Late Lakshman Kadirgamar's after-dinner speech OFF THE CUFF , in the UK, at which Sri Lankan Cricketers were present. How many ministers can make a similar speech today? This was at an earlier World Cup time. "Captain Atapattu and members of the Sri Lankan team, Members of the Sri Lankan community, Friends of Sri Lanka, Ladies and Gentlemen, Some historians say, I think uncharitably, that cricket is really a diabolical political strategy, disguised as a game, in fact a substitute for War, invented by the  ingenious British to confuse the natives by encouraging them to fight each other instead of their imperial rulers.   The world is divided into two camps - those who revel in the intricacies of cricket and those who are totally baffled by it, who cannot figure out why a group of energetic young men should spend days, often in the hot sun or bitter cold, chasing a ball across an open field, hitting it from time...

My  salutes to Mr Narayana Murthy and Mr Mashelkar! Today in Economic Times the brain storming article having same heading made me really excited and highly hopeful towards future of application of researches in science and technology in commercial field. As in my whole career I felt that its lagging too much in our country (except southern parts of India).Whatever researches are going on in big government institutes remain in journals and proceedings of seminars.Very few come up in application. While crores of rupees are spent every year by many funding sectors viz; UGC,CSIR,DBT and many more. Today after reading views of Mr Narayan Murthy and Mr Mashelkar I felt really supportive from their side as I have requested in many seminars and meetings about this innovation. Mr Narayan Murthy: What we really require is science, technology and innovation policy.Innovation is mind to market, concept to commercialisation. In the rest of the world you see that is happening. Mr Mashelkar: Human...
