A Clarion Call to the Youth of India K S VENKATARAMAN Please treat this is as the call of our Mother Land India. She calls you to awake and arise. This is the expression of Her trust in all of you. She has chosen you all as Her last resort, after having been disappointed by others. You can change everything. What we see around us: All of you know the rottenness of our political set up. We see day in, day out instances of alarming corruption. We hear reports of misdeeds aplenty. The poor are neglected, dominated, insulted and even made to pay the penalty for the wrong deeds of men in power. Justice is inordinately delayed, if not denied. Moneyed persons, criminals, politicians and dishonest ...

Very great reference. I have really enjoyed reading this reference. Indian can never claim that it is developed by showing GDP figures and the inflow of funds. There tend to be some development always. There is development in India too when we...

In Indian context education is for getting a job.    Particularly, we the Indians never consider the politics as a profession.    Young blood in most of the cases are not self-centric.  The political scenario prevailing in India, it is very...

Another issues what i feel personally for the reason why students are really not involving the politics are due to fear of there career. It is a known fact that how corruption has evolved and involved in politics, if some one wants to really join...

Majority of Indian youth are not concerned about politics. They don't even know what is politics? Political system? Government? We can easily blame our elders. But as a citizen we have the duty to know about it. But unfortunately majority believe...

Im confused here.  The title of the debate is "Dare" and the debatable area is again different.  If it is about loving the job, it always good.    If you love the job, your performance is at its best, so u will be recognised as good performer. ...

I beg to differ here... while love at work spoils work culture.. luving job is good but doing work profssionally adds to benefit to the company as well as your own job card with HR.

The people of india are enough capable to do revolution, but that should be implemented, not only in  talking , but in doing something.

Politics and government are treated as words with negative connotations in the Indian society. Interestingly, the same is not true for many countries in other parts of the world. In a first of its kind initiative, the Research Foundation for Governance in India (RFGI) has taken up the task of educating the young minds of Ahmedabad about how the political systems across the world work. Curtis Riep, a graduate in international relations from University of Calgary, Canada; Ramiro Gomes Monteiro, political sciences and history student at Utrecht University, Netherlands; Catherine See, student of international relations at the National University of Malaysia; Katie Farrer, bachelor of law and po...

I could say literally there is no youth leadership in Indian politics. The younger generations of the old leadership is now taking the batten of political leadership to continue their legacy in the politics. We can not expect an out of the box...

It is time to bring a rule that politicians must retire at the age of 65. Today's system in India is granted for all politicians that they can keep ruling till the time they want. This has to change. A candidate should not be allowed to stand in...

Kavitha ji, a novel thought, but this should be done with balanced approach; we need septuagenerian to keep the flocks together. Young minds seek quick results - sometimes very hard to get one. Tolerance, patience and observance of rules are the...

Jeffrey Preston Bezos was born on January 12th 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His family had acquired a 250,000 acre ranch in Cotulla, where Bezos spent most of his childhood summers working with his grandfather. The Bezos family moved to Florida, where he attended Miami Palmetto Senior High School. While in high school, Bezos fell in love with computers. After high school he enrolled to Princeton University to study physics, but decided to continue with his love of computers, and graduated with a degree in computer science and electrical engineering. In many ways, a manager has to be a leader, so therefore a manager will have many of the traits that a leader does. However, I feel the term 'manager' applies primarily to business, it's in a manager's best interest to lead his co-workers effectively, encouraging them to achieve their goals and targets. In my experience, a leader is more of a social thing; more associated with team work, too. Go to Discussion http://lnkd.in/wUJe5E

Isn't it amazing, that Indian Government has miserably failed to handle a major issue like this, rather overlooked it conveniently:Maoist Insurgency, that contributed to killing of 900 people, last year alone -- Wrote Former Indian major general Ashok K. There are some "Blind Spots", the personality traits which are obstacles to become a good leader. These are the bad habits we have, due to the lack of self-awareness or reluctant to improve. These are- Blind ambition- Has to win or "right" at all costs; competes instead of cooperates; exaggerates his/her own value and contribution; is boastful and arrogant; sees people in black-and-white terms as allies or enemies. Unrealistic goals- Sets overly ambitious, unattainable goals for the group or organisation; is unrealistic about what it takes to get jobs done. Relentless striving- Compulsively hardworking at the expense of all else in life; runs on empty; is vulnerable to bunout. Drives others- Pushes other people too hard, burning them out; micromanages and takes over instead of delegating; comes actoss as abrasive or ruthless and insensitive to the emotional harm to others. Power hungry- Seeks power fot his/her own interests, rather than the organisation's; pushes a personal agenda...

The other day I was in a restaurant and saw a sign advertising "Sliders Fridays." From what I gathered, they offered a deep discount on tiny hamburgers, called sliders, on Friday nights. The interesting thing about this discovery is that I own the restaurant and it's the first I knew of it. (Stacey's at Waterford:  www.eatatstaceys.com ) I don't just own the restaurant. I also manage it, although I use that term loosely. I've taken the concept of hands-off management to the next level. Most of the time I have no idea what the staff is up to. They organize customer events, execute marketing ideas, hire and fire, change the menu, and pretty much anything else they want. I only get involved if there is a largish expense that needs to be approved. I see the financials daily, by e-mail, but I'm mostly about the bottom line. As a well-known critic of managers, I painted a big red bulls eye on my back when I started managing the restaurant. For the first year I was involved in the details...

This is an ‘untold story’ from Mahabharat, published in a Sanskrit Magazine, many years ago. My father used to read it out to me and translate into my mother tongue. It goes like this: Duryodhan is lying in the battle field, awaiting death, badly bruised by the wounds inflicted by Bhima. He kept his three fingers in a raised position and is unable to speak. All the efforts made by his men to understand the meaning proved to be futile. Seeing his plight Krishna approached him and said “I know what issues occupied your mind. I will address them”. He clarified that the issues are a)      not building a fort around his capital city, b)      not persuading Vidur to participate in the battle c)      not making Aswathama as commander-in-chief after the death of Dronacharya. Krishna explained further that (a) Assuming that you built a fort, I would have asked Nakul to mount the horse and destroy the fort, (b) If you succeeded in persuading Vidur to participate in the battle, I would have...
