In many ways, a manager has to be a leader, so therefore a manager will have many of the traits that a leader does. However, I feel the term 'manager' applies primarily to business, it's in a manager's best interest to lead his co-workers effectively, encouraging them to achieve their goals and targets. In my experience, a leader is more of a social thing; more associated with team work, too. Go to Discussion http://lnkd.in/wUJe5E

“In the spiritual world in India, there the ‘A-U-M’ is a very weighty word, used in the beginning of Hymn and ‘Mantras’ (spell like words used in good purpose). Some of us think that ‘A-U-M’ is the first sound of the universe. In fact, ‘BOM’ is the first sound of the universe. It came into existence with the birth of the universe –the beginning of the great creation with a big explosion. Actually, ‘A-U-M’ is the root of all sounds and the base music of cosmic concert. The great universe is on motion from the birth and there is a hum like sound like of a motor in motion, which is produced from its basic frequency. This hum is ‘A-U-M’ There are three unites of dimension in the ‘A-U-M’. ‘A’ is Original Being (Brahma), ‘U’ (you) is God or universe existence, and ‘M’ is me or ‘I’. ‘ParamAham’ to ‘Aham’." – MahaManas

Gilani Takes on Pakistan Army Trouble is brewing again in Pakistan. The latest unrest began when Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani sacked his defense secretary , who is a close ally of the powerful army chief, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. The move represents another low point in relations between the civilian government and the military establishment in Pakistan, and prompted an angry statement from the army, which denounced the prime minister’s actions: “There can be no allegation more serious than what the honourable prime minister has levelled,” the statement said. What did Gilani say that was so serious? He accused the Pakistan Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence of being “a state within a state.” Ominously, Kayani convened an “emergency” meeting of the country’s military top brass on Thursday to deliberate the latest development, and the Pakistani media has been abuzz with talk of an imminent military takeover that would end the rule of President Zardari’s coalition...

Traders Crisis Averted As I noted yesterday , Indian and Chinese diplomats have been working to avert a potential flashpoint between the two giant Asian neighbors over two detained Indian businessmen. And, after some fevered negotiations, it seems like they’ve managed it. The two Indians, Deepak Raheja and Shyamsundar Agrawal, were reportedly being held hostage by Chinese traders in the city of Yiwu after the owner of the company they worked for, a Yemeni national, apparently fled after failing to clear his debt to the Chinese traders. The traders had been insisting that Raheja and Agrawal must pay the money as they finalized the transactions. When the Indian traders refused they were reportedly forced to drink their own urine . The incident risked sparking a diplomatic row between the two countries, with one of the captive businessmen raising the stakes by apparently promising to commit suicide if the Indian government didn’t step in and evacuate them to Shanghai within 24...

PMO Launches Twitter Account Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s new Communications Advisor Pankaj Pachauri has already initiated an interesting change in the Prime Minister’s Office, just a couple of days after starting his new job – launching an account for Singh on Twitter. Pachauri, a TV journalist, was appointed last week with a brief to focus on social media, which has been utilized to good effect to bash the government by social activist Anna Hazare and his team since last year. Several ministries in the United Progressive Alliance government, including the Ministry of External Affairs, have been on Twitter and Facebook for quite some time. The MEA, in particular, used social networking sites during the Libyan crisis last year, with then-Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao using these sites to inform the world about the evacuation status of Indians who were stranded in Libya. The PMO’s first tweet, uploaded Sunday, was: “‘You make all of us proud’ – PM tells young bravehearts...
