August 15th, 2009 | by Pete Cashmore 109 Comments   An unfamiliar source sent us these, which claim to be screenshots of the upcoming Google Chrome OS . Are they real? Who knows, but we’ll confess we kinda like them – super simple for a web-centric experience. They’ll probably turn out to be mockups from a kid in Delaware. Or pinched from an Engadget story published years ago. Or something. We don’t care…they’re cool, and we’re only gonna keep prodding Google Google until we get to see the real thing. Do you want the Google Chrome OS to look like this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Too little and we cannot rate any OS from screenshots!!
Sharat Chandra  |  Commented  |  2 years ago
Screen shots seem to be some extended Google Chrome browser interfaces and no screen to confirm Google Chrome operating system.
Viktor Stephen  |  Commented  |  2 years ago
The screen shots are not clear and do not give enough insight about the OS and its features.

Well I want to comment that ... I found the old interface was clunky and obscure, whereas Google have introduced clarity. The information most people want is now front and center, and if you want complexity, you can dig deeper. Previously, I found it difficult to get a snapshot overview. Also ..... I ve also been using other metrics programs primarily Feedburner Stats and Performancing Pmetrics and just recently some dabbling with Automattic Stats as well. They don t offer as much flexibility, but they all tend to be a lot easier and approachable to dive into. But if you want to graph out referrer traffic for the last 45 days? Well, they aren t going to cut it Analytics will though. The in ...

Yes they are going to be here.. and the first destination is Bangalore... Google cars and trikes will begin driving and taking street level photographs of public locations around the city. The images will be made available at a later date in Street View on Google Maps. Street View is a popular feature of Google Maps , already available in more than 27 countries. It allows users to virtually explore and navigate a neighborhood through panoramic street-level images. It is also available on Google Maps for mobile. In countries where Street View is available, the user can access street-level imagery by zooming into the lowest level on Google Maps, or by dragging the orange "Pegman" icon on the left-hand side of the map onto a blue highlighted street. In addition to the cars, the Google Trike - a specially designed three-wheel pedi-cab with a camera system mounted on top - will start gathering images from select locations in the area such as the Nrityagram Dance Village over the next...

Every month, Google makes tons of tiny changes to the way search works. It shares them in company blog posts that present a list of carefully scripted bullet points with mysterious code names in an inscrutable order. Google never comments on the changes beyond these announcements, but it's always informative to spread the puzzle pieces out on the table and see what Google is up to. Here's what changed in April. We thought there were a lot of changes in March, but April was even bigger. Google changed 52 things about its search algorithm last month. As usual, you don't need to worry about a bunch of them. But the most interesting of the latest search changes fall into three important categories. Smarter The more Google can guess (correctly) what we're looking for, the faster we can find it. Google is getting better at untangling our spelling mistakes, interpreting our meaning and answering our questions. One update helps Google interpret your intention by looking at your last few...

The other day I was in a restaurant and saw a sign advertising "Sliders Fridays." From what I gathered, they offered a deep discount on tiny hamburgers, called sliders, on Friday nights. The interesting thing about this discovery is that I own the restaurant and it's the first I knew of it. (Stacey's at Waterford:  www.eatatstaceys.com ) I don't just own the restaurant. I also manage it, although I use that term loosely. I've taken the concept of hands-off management to the next level. Most of the time I have no idea what the staff is up to. They organize customer events, execute marketing ideas, hire and fire, change the menu, and pretty much anything else they want. I only get involved if there is a largish expense that needs to be approved. I see the financials daily, by e-mail, but I'm mostly about the bottom line. As a well-known critic of managers, I painted a big red bulls eye on my back when I started managing the restaurant. For the first year I was involved in the details...
